I invited @eddavey.libdems.org.uk to the North Cotswolds to see for himself some of the rivers polluted by excessive sewage by the water companies @libdems.org.uk
Supporting local business and getting growth in the economy is vital @libdems.org.uk
I showed @eddavey.libdems.org.uk the River Coln in North Cotswolds on Friday. One of the most polluted rivers in England with high levels of sewage pumped into it by Thames Water. The company has failed & must be put into administration. @libdems.org.uk
Talking to residents in the North Cotswolds every week. No election, but always keeping in touch.
It was a great honour to welcome delegates yesterday in Gloucestershire for the first time to the Asian Fire Service Association Conference. I heard some compelling and emotional speeches and it was a really good event.
Glad to hear that a review of the ‘temporary’ changes at Cirencester Hospital will be reviewed at the county’s Health Scrutiny Committee in October. Our mass petition with @rozsavage.bsky.social called for services to be protected so I hope the NHS will listen to that.
Coming up this Thursday 4pm with my guests & music @cotswoldsradio.bsky.social
I announced at last week’s county council meeting that the @libdems.org.uk administration intends to send fire engines to Ukraine once they go out of service here. We’ve already been talking to our friends in Ukraine and stand in solidarity with them.
Farage on this morning’s media on the anniversary of the Brexit vote. Evasive, arrogant and aggressive. Taking no responsibility for the immense damage he has done to our country.
Clifton Brown makes no connection to the fact his own party started the chaos with Brexit, then had 4 short lived PMs. He talks about ‘lack of vision and plan’ yet he supported all of his own leaders publicly. 34 years as an MP and we get this. Time to go!
Stow on the Wold! Another pit stop on my video blogs. Steeped in history (civil war buffs will know) and looking quintessentially Cotswolds in the summer sunshine. The independent small shops and businesses in the town are a key part of the local economy.
We were finally able to hand in our petition to protect NHS services in the Cotswolds to Number 10 today. The thousands of signatures that have been collected demonstrate the deep support that our local health services have. @rozsavage.bsky.social
Libraries in our area are real community hubs. Like this one in Minchinhampton which I dropped into earlier to thank volunteers for what they do and to hear about the plans for the future. Books, jigsaws, community events and information, children’s fun activities.
Delighted to have unanimous support at last night’s Cotswold District Council meeting for my motion calling for the NHS to protect services at our Cotswolds hospitals. Supported by @rozsavage.bsky.social
Delighted to be in the County Council Cabinet once again to continue the work on Public Health, Communities and Fire for Gloucestershire
Supporting @cllrstewartdove.bsky.social in our joint call to protect Churchdown Hill (commonly known as Chosen Hill). A wonderful green space.
Speaking to the many people who came to show support for the campaign to protect our Cotswolds hospitals. So far over 2,500 people have signed our petition to keep services at Cirencester and Moreton in the face of ‘temporary’ changes made by the NHS. www.southcotswoldlibdems.org.uk/cirencesterh...
Four more guests on my show @cotswoldsradio.bsky.social! Andy Walker from Minchinhampton with his travelling cat plus Ros Marsden and Keira Bullivant with their inspiring Third Space youth project for the North Cotswolds.
Talking to residents in Brockworth - something the North Cotswolds is doing week in week out. Listening and acting. @libdems.org.uk
On BBCPoliticsWest talking about the scandal of exorbitant management fees being paid by homeowners across our area.
Met MPs including @victoria-collins.bsky.social and @clivejonesmp.bsky.social yesterday in Parliament to discuss key issues faced by North Cotswolds residents. Cost of living, NHS, local environment.
Another projection puts North Cotswolds as a @libdems.org.uk gain @electionmaps.uk
This doesn’t age well does it? Geoffrey Clifton Brown in Parliament defending the disgraced Andrew Mountbatten Windsor according to Hansard in 2011. Defending the Establishment without questioning is one of the reasons this country needs to change. @carmelogarcia.bsky.social
The big cheque is here! Really pleased to handover £3000 to Brockworth Link from the County Council Grassroots Neighbourhood Fund to help boost youth health and wellbeing. Had a chance to look round the bright and warm space of Brockworth Community Library too!
This Thursday my guests on Afternoon Live @cotswoldsradio.bsky.social will be Cotswold mysteries author RebeccaTope and Cllr Tony Dale. 4-6pm, 19 February
Residents in North Cotswolds are paying £100's in “fleecehold” charges — with little accountability & poor maintenance. Govt’s reforms don’t go far enough. Developers aren’t even required to hand over control. Thx to @maxwilkinson.bsky.social for asking questions in Parliament on this.
