Flooded Jetty - Coniston I was stood shin deep in very, very cold water for this one as I'd forgotten my wellies. #photography #landscapephotography #landscape #eastCoastKin #longexposure #lakeDistrict #shareMondays2025

A photo taken looking down a jetty towards the centre of a lake and the opposite shoreline. The water level is so deep that the deck boards are covered by the water. The water has been smoothed over with the use of a long exposure which gives it a milky appearance. closer to the camera the deck boards are visible.

The posts of the jetty stand clear of the water and seem to converge in the distance. A sign hang from the first posts and it says that the pier is closed for repair. On the horizon a cloud is little up by the sun casting orange light on the water of the lake towards the camera.

The photo was taken as I waited for the van to get up the hill. The road was icy under the snow so I'd taken the decision to wait rather than risk crashing into the van.

One more, this one is an almost, but not quite. 📸 I'd seen the 'We can be heroes' banner and I was just wondering whether I could use it somehow. At that minute a fire engine came flying past with the blue lights on, unfortunately a bit too quick, so too much blur, for the shutter speed.

The woman within 📷 Another shot from my first evening taking #streetphotography. I took a lot of pictures, most didn’t work, too much movement in low light. I found more success focusing on individuals rather than wider shots. I enjoyed it at first but became increasingly self conscious.
