I got into a conversation with a bartender in 2024 about books, and they recommended Mieko Kawakami. Her "Breasts and Eggs" book is indescribably amazing. Sort of like if Haruki Murakami was a much younger woman, but also very much her own thing. One of the best books I've ever read.
