Severe storm and nature photographer from western PA. (🌪2) Earth Science and Climatology, PSU '24. PAweather on YouTube. It's the wonder of nature, baby.
Here are a few more from that set, it had some really nice aquamarine color #stormchasing #nature #photography #naturephotography #landscapephotography
I had a fun chase at Lake Erie on July 21. I decided to avoid the hills in SW PA/SE OH and instead went to check out the lake setup which had my tornadic waterspout senses tingling. It paid off bc I caught a clear funnel cloud over the water! Green color, shelf, and mammatus too
Watching a linear storm come off Lake Erie earlier I caught some kind of waterspout funnel southwest of Erie, PA. On the right bookend of a surging bow with a fair amount of 3CAPE and surface vorticity in the area, which is what lured me to the lake #pawx
COMING SOON on YouTube: Ten Years of Nature Photography - My 100 Best Photos Countdown #nature #photography #stormchasing #landscape #naturephotography #art
No better time to celebrate July Fourth in my favorite way: by rewatching Jaws, a movie about a vain, image-obsessed politician who ignores a scientist's warnings and misrepresents the truth to the media after people get killed
Prints of my new supercell painting "Skies of Oklahoma" are now available at the link in the comments below! 16x20 inch acrylic, fictional scene based on a real landscape, the first painting I've completed in almost four years #art #painting #stormchasing #nature #natureart #landscape
I started this fictional Oklahoma supercell painting three years ago and I finally finished it! 16x20 inch acrylic, prints will be available shortly #art #painting #stormchasing #natureart #landscapepainting
Two little supercells served straight to me close to home in western PA over the last week. Pennsylvania's been rocking and rolling this season
This is a spotted newt I found the other day, I named it Gummy. Gummy is extremely poisonous and could kill a person within hours if ingested #photography #wildlife #nature #naturephotography
In case you missed it, the TORNADO COUNTRY Chapter One Audiobook video is up on YouTube now! This is the second dramatic reading from my book I've posted and I'd like to do more later on. Link in the comments below #stormchasing #indieauthor #selfpublished #nonfiction
THIS WEEK ON YOUTUBE: "Venturing further onto the wild and boundless plains, the settlers realized that taming the land came at the cost of living beneath an untamable sky." Tornado Country: The History of Oklahoma's Violent Weather - Chapter One Audiobook #stormchasing #indieauthor #selfpublished
Fun little surprise Tuesday evening in western PA as some wind shear got a couple of thundershowers spinning and the lightning on the forward side ramped up. I didn't capture any video but I did get a decent time lapse. The fireflies came out too
Based on the NWS survey for the EF0 tornado in Beaver County PA on Sunday, it would have to be in these photos under that lowered QLCS vortex as it passed west of Beaver Falls, but I didn't notice anything visually at about six miles away
Tornado warned squall moving through Beaver County PA within the last hour
Some wide-reaching spider lightning over eastern Ohio and western PA Wednesday night produced below the anvils of disorganized but vigorous storms. These events are difficult to shoot because these lightning discharges are infrequent and can cover a huge area at once
May 31 is a big weather day - it's the date of the remarkable and tragic El Reno, OK tornado in 2013, which I wrote about extensively in my book; and in Pennsylvania, it's the day of the 1985 tornadoes and the disastrous 1889 Johnstown Flood, which I've got videos on. Links below
Here's some before-and-after from the original 2022 version and new remastered version of Washington's National Parks, up on YouTube now. I rebuilt it in DaVinci Resolve and I'm super happy with how it looks now, I could really tap into those PNW color palettes. Link below #pnw #nature #photography

(🧵) It's the anniversary of the EF5 tornado disaster in Moore, OK on May 20, 2013. The event is explored in detail in my book TORNADO COUNTRY, serving along with El Reno as the climax of the whole narrative. Here's a preview of Chapter Nine: Nature's Fury #sciencewriter #indieauthor #selfpublished
TORNADO COUNTRY - CHAPTER ONE AUDIOBOOK is not done yet because recording voiceovers is difficult. My mouth seriously can't be too dry or too damp or else the whole thing is unbearable. But Washington Remastered is coming along nicely. In the meantime I need to pick a thumbnail
... the spectacle made me want to be a photographer, the science made me want to learn, the adventure made me love cinema, the storytelling inspired me to write, the soundtrack inspired me to create music. One random instant in front of the TV as a young kid changed my whole life
Today is 30 years since Twister hit theaters! I can't overstate how much this movie has influenced my life. Since I was a little kid I've loved weather. It's driven me to chase storms and explore all things nature and environment, travel to amazing places, it drove my education and career path, ...
Two years ago I caught the G5 aurora event from Erie, PA. Easily one of the coolest experiences I've ever had #art #photography #spaceweather #aurora #auroraborealis #nature #naturephotography
Five years ago today was my most recent trip to Tornado Alley and my first southern plains supercell(s)
This genuinely fills me with happiness #nationalpark #photography #filmmaking #nature #naturephotography #pnw
I'm loving DaVinci Resolve so far. This bad boy's looking like an Aidin Robbins video
