At the middle of the endless stairway. Didn't seem like that many steps on the way down. Kisil Point Trail at Letchworth. I didn't start taking photographs until I reached the end of the trail, where I turned around and headed back.

An American Lament 250 I was 26 in 1976 and proudly flying US Army helicopters out of Fort Richardson, Alaska. 1976 was a celebration; July 4, 2026 feels like a lament for what we have lost. There is still brightness, but a lot of dark shadows, too.

Memories are like that Visited my parents' grave Sunday afternoon, an annual Fathers' Day pilgrimage. Finished the film rolls in both the Ondu 135 and my modified Argus C3 Pinhole camera. Developed both rolls Monday; scanned the Argus roll Tuesday afternoon.
