sea witch
@peaseblossom101
she was beautifully adapted for life in another planet, but the natural genius she had for conducting affairs there was of no real use to her here
An experimental bowl with somewhat wonky results, but I don’t hate it. I’ve been taking pottery classes for almost two years, maybe I should line up my work and do some kind of retrospective
Letterboxd last four Friday: unapologetically inconsistent star ratings 📽️
Sautéed up some home grown bok choy to go with buckeye beans and rice for dinner! 🍽️🍜
I’ve been having a lot of fun with Hank Green’s Smush, which is a daily puzzle similar to NYT’s Spelling Bee, but there’s a limited number of times you can use each letter, so it’s finite, and involves some strategy.
Letterboxd last four Friday: a lot of people put undertone in their best horror of the year so far, but I thought it was pretty regressive and unoriginal 📽️
Finished the duplicate stitch on this Washington Beanie kit (pattern by Nancy Bates, yarn is Meeker Street Cafe Latte from the Nifty Knitter) 🧶
I know I already told you to watch The Vampire Lestat (Interview With the Vampire season 3), but I’m telling you again! Each episode has been better than the last, and it’s got everything you could possibly want: vampires, queer sex, drama, trauma, beautiful men, murder, and musical numbers.
Strawberry shortcake! One of my favorite desserts, and only really spectacular for a short window in early summer (at least around here). In my opinion, at its best when it’s kept very simple. 🍜🍽️
Took Jere and the kids out to the MFA for Father’s Day! Highlights were the Framing Nature: Gardens and Imagination exhibit, and the Subvert, Repair, Reclaim: Contemporary Artists Take Back the Nude exhibit
Happy Juneteenth! Hibiscus Egg Cream and Peach and Molasses Chicken (recipes from Watermelon & Red Birds by Nicole A. Taylor), Sweet Potato Salad and Wilted Mixed Greens with Bacon (recipes from Jubilee by Toni Tipton-Martin 🍽️🍜
Coral Island got a huge update today! I haven’t played for a while, so I’m excited to dive back in this summer
Tonight I made Scarlet Beauty beans (from Baer’s Best Beans in Maine) and rice, with cornbread. They were delicious, I highly recommend! 🍽️🍜
Strawberry rhubarb pie (King Arthur Baking crust, filling from First Prize Pies by Allison Kave)! 🍜🍽️
A bouquet of flowers from the farmers market to brighten your afternoon
New pottery finish! It’s a bowl large enough for a side dish or small salad. I got to try out the studio’s new glaze sprayer, which was fun, and also delivered some really attractive results
A friend is moving out of the country and bequeathed me her AeroGarden kits, along with some gorgeous herbs and veggies. Do any of you have any experience with this sort of thing? I’d love any tips you might have so I can keep them growing 🌱
Roasted rhubarb and strawberry spoon cake (NYT cooking recipe). This week was our first week back at the farmers market! 🍽️🍜
Working on a Washington Beanie kit from the Nifty Knitter. I elected to do duplicate stitch rather than 3-4 strand color work. We’ll see how annoyed I get about that later. 🧶
Kale Caesar Pasta Salad, with white beans added for protein. Recipe from NYT Cooking 🍜🍽️
Halloumi Souvlaki Bowl, recipe from NYT Cooking, with added pickled onions. 🍜🍽️
Letterboxd last four Friday: somebody left their Netflix account active at the rental we’re staying in. 📽️
Hey, who needs a gondola? Couple of gorgeous views of Mount Rainier from Seattle today
Yesterday we took a gondola up to the top of Crystal Mountain to get a gorgeous view of Mount Rainier
