tadc thoughts in the spirit of being vulnerable and sincere even if its scary

I think the main reason why i liked tadc so much is because it rlly hit me with its sincerity and message against being irony poisoned like so many other modern milennial/zoomer franchises

Like the whole time i was waiting for the other shoe to drop, for it to pull a hazbin or something, but like the whole run through, every episode just had characters who were genuinely nice to each other and tried fuckin communicating and talking through the issues they had. The only character against this was Jax and thats the whole point of the show, that being irony poisoned and hiding behind it as a mechanism to avoid confronting part of yourself is hurtful to both yourself and others.

I didnt think id relate to jax so hard at the beginning despite knowing some of her stuff from background knowledge but like as the show progressed esp in the finale i saw more and more of myself in her especially as a teen where i remember my first instinct at being shown mlp was to call it gay and mock the person who screened it because that was just how i was raised by… years of abuse. The fucking ironic maid dress thing too basically slammed into me like an anvil.

I think tadc is just a rlly important salve for youth to see rn in these times where like the defining characteristic of modern fascism is to never stand for anything and treat everything as “ironic” to avoid taking responsibility for anything. Like Kinger in the dark it just shines as something I can hold onto in these times. And thats rlly neat, ig.

Also having Angel Dusts pilot va be Jax feels almost perfect in taking the ironic cussing tumblr sexyman and staring into her soul and going “okay but youre a deeply traumatised trans woman tho” and thats just a cherry on top lol

Was struggling to think of a character for my first lancer game but then i got inspired (Listen to @bloodwork.show )

The mech ive selected is the pegasus, which has the flavour text “GUN:GUN” as it uses an obscene amount of reality-warping, mind-bending guns. It is sentient and loves gun. Ive named the mech “LISTEN TO BLOOD WORK” which sits at the top of the screen, and changed the photo to a soviet soldier with a gas mask pointing a pistol out through his protective coat, in the style of the listen to blood work meme.
