Sat on deck ww/hubby @gbish57.bsky.social to watch our hummingbirds. Clouds are coming back in. Hubby is now out at the grill. Making carne asada with bean and cheese burritos (made with homegrown cilantro). Time to grill before the rain hits us. We'll be watching our usual movie, Independence Day!

Quite a bit of color in the sky this morning. Reminds me of "Red sky at morning, sailors take warning". We are expecting some bad weather today, though more to central Illinois. We are NW Chicago area. I hope for at least some rain so I don't have to water. 😊

Mama duck decided to make her home right outside our basement window. Hubby found her there yesterday when he was downstairs. He only saw her cuz he heard a commotion out the window and saw her. This afternoon, one of our hummingbirds divebombed her. Wild life!
My husband was down in Joliet, IL at a jobsite yesterday. Showed me what he paid for gas. He does pay for premium. 😭
After working so hard on gardening yesterday, hubby and I decided to treat ourselves to a glass @lynfredwinery.bsky.social Petite Sirah Reserve for me. Cold, sweet Oktoberfest for him. Fresh baked baguette from the winery as well as fresh homemade butter and homemade cheesy artichoke dip. 💗🍷🥖

Got my 93 year old mom's new doorbell with flashing lights installed today. It's to help the hearing impaired. The lights are pretty darned bright! Made some cheddar bratwurst simmered in pumpkin ale, for lunch. Had a good time with my mom.💗
Met up with our kids @lynfredwinery.bsky.social in Roselle, IL for a 💗 #MothersDay. Hubby had Sangria Blanc, I had Zinfandel. Son had Oktoberfest. DIL had Vin De City Demi-Sec. Daughter had Cabernet Sauvignon. SIL - water. The pup you can't see, loved the homemade bread Lynfred makes on weekends
Went to my local Independent Bookstore, called Jen's Art, Gifts & Books. www.jenfisherbooks.com in Roselle, IL. What a super fun little store! Since today is Independent Bookstore Day, everything was 20% off. Plus, we won a prize! The clever ladies there also made a book about their mascot. Cute! 📖💗
