I really dislike what I think of ‘Tee Hee Wine Culture’ paraphernalia that is marketed to leisure class white women in their 40s and 50s. As in ‘Tee hee, I’m going to get so sloshed this weekend.’ This junk was in all the shops in Excelsior. Ugh.

This is a picture from one our Father’s Day celebrations, with one of his daughters, as usual, on his lap. The girls colored the Father’s Day t-shirt pictured her as a gift, and he wore it proudly many times until the end of his life. It was one of the t-shirts I made into his memorial quilt.
Missing my darling husband Rob today on Father’s Day. He was the most tender and loving father, and he would be so unbelievably proud of the women his girls have become.

I have many of her books autographed. But this is the most precious one I have. I wore this miniature book brooch to Minicon, and she had me take it off, wrote a tiny poem and autographed it and gave it back to me. I’ve kept it for over twenty years.
I am being self-indulgent this morning. Sunday morning breakfast on my front porch is one of my favorite things.

I have so many bunnies that I have circled my Swiss Chard/kale raised bed with chicken wire, and I didn’t bother putting in other vegetables. They’ve also destroyed the chokeberry bush over the winter.. But I didn’t expect them to raze the new bleeding heart plant I put in. Ravenous beasts.
When my dad was in his 60s, my brother as a gift commissioned an oil painting from Richard, showing my dad with his entire family supposedly on vacation in Florence at a plaza near Richard’s home. Richard flew to the states to make sketches of all of us. Here is the painting. /more
