Great Piece of Turf, elsewhere translated as "The Monumental Turf", by Albrecht Durer. It is a watercolor painting, showing grasses and commonly found wildflowers and plants on a small patch of earth, in meticulous detail. Individual leaves, buds, and blades of grass are rendered in varying shades of color, heights, and positions relative to the viewer, making it clear that this work is long and carefully observed.
