Yamato 2199 is a good remake because it understands it's really about how badass plot armor can be. Over 10,000 ships in the way? "We'll have to ram through them." And you think No They Can't Just Do That but bc their timing aligned with a bad coupe attempt they are in fact able to Just Do That

I recently discovered that you can buy incredibly cheap fountain pens from brands like Jinhao, Asvine, and Hong Dian and get pens that rival (and sometime directly dupe) the $200+ pens with shockingly good writing experiences so I might've slipped and ordered a few more pens and stuff...

This past weekend I visited my dad and it turns out he bought me a Montblack Meisterstück (I think 146?) in burgundy with a 14k gold nib, from at least before 1991 as it has "W GERMANY" printed along the cap. What can I say but HOLY SHIT

I also took the brass body and cap and copper clip and soaked them in a solution of white vinegar and salt for a few minutes and gently scrubbed away some tarnish and verdigris with a foam scouring pad and it looks quite good if I do say so myself.
