Ha, perfect (purrfect)! Also I think it’s hilarious that I now have a white kitten to compare to your black Ollie. A little white Asty v a little black Ollie :)
🤨 (Okay, they had “rent” on the line below, but come on, I read this first thing after waking up and…idk, are we sure the Royal Family wouldn’t benefit from prison, at least as much as most people in there currently?)
Interesting language and information here from Cooper. She contacted the Iranian foreign ministry but not, it seems, the Israeli one, to tell them off. She “condemned” Israel but “strongly condemned“ Hezbollah. No further comment.
He now (sometimes) appreciates new kitten friend! (It’s blurry because they were literally a foot away from me, but mutual grooming!)
this is a cat check point. pls relinquish your most recent cat picture on your phone
Have a picture of my new kitten, in that case, because I have to show her off. (Her name is Astrophe, as in “my cat, Astrophe”)
Yeah, she got over the shyness very quickly :) I hope Ares comes round soon, though he’s getting closer to it. It’s just patient work…
Thanks. Bit of a long term problem but the going next door thing is being attempted because there’s a new kitten there, so there’s some excitement to be had even at home. (Obligatory picture of new cat Astrophe, Asty for short)
She is a darling. She likes playing a lot, and she purrs whenever you stroke her. Plus, she came when I called her name today, which was very exciting! She was exploring the upstairs landing and I called “Asty” and she bounded down and purred for pets (Which she obviously received).
I have been trying to go into the room adjoining my bedroom so I can be in the same room as the kitten, and lie on the bed in there, for an hour or so each day. Yesterday I couldn’t do it at all. Today I am in so much pain I know I shouldn’t have. I hate being this ill. (Kitten, though.)
It is sad, and she’s all smol and scared, but she did lick my hand when I put a treat on it. Which is a move forward. I’m trying to let her get comfy at her own pace so I haven’t tried to touch her, just stared creepily a lot and spoken to her each time. (Ares still hiding in the back room!)
It’s ME awareness day and I’m ironically not well enough to post anything helpful about it because I feel too shit. Don’t get ME or Long Covid, it sucks.
This is Ares. Ares is friend shaped to pretty much everyone he comes into contact with, or at any rate they are friend shaped to him. They may not feel the same way back!
A purring cat is sitting on my chest, and a friend is staying who understands I’m chronically ill and spends the amount of time with me that I can manage (and cooks for me).
It’s time to resist! Solidarity with Greenpeace US & Greenpeace International as they continue the fight against fossil fuel SLAPP lawsuits. We are many, they are few. #StopCorporateIntimidation #TimeToResist @greenpeaceuk.bsky.social @greenpeace.org @greenpeaceusa.bsky.social
I’m late with this but it’s too good not to post now I’ve seen it. Picture reposted with added alt text.
This is perfect because if you read through some of the others posted (some have alt text, others don’t; you may have to scroll for them), it ranges between surreal and “surely he actually wrote that one?”
BBC is claiming that the shooter had a gun license which has lapsed, which I think is *very* unlikely given her age and mental health issues. Suspect it was a different member of the household, but the implication is very strongly that it’s the shooter’s. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Goodbye, beautiful Zula. Your eyes were so full of pain this morning. I’ve spent more time with you in the last decade - by a long way - than any other living being. I don’t know how to be bedbound without you by my side. But you deserve your peace.
Cat people are the best people. Thank you. We are letting my girlie go to rest tomorrow lunchtime, to give me the morning to love on her as my health means I can’t be with her as she goes. I’m losing my cat soulmate - “she’s the cat version of you, mother.”
I don’t think the US has much British support within the public for invading Greenland, given 55% of people would support throwing all US troops out of the UK if they did, and only 22% oppose…
Has she even thought about what she’s said? The mind boggles. cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thu...
Many good thoughts. Here, have my spouse’s moon on water photo in return, in the hope it feels like a Nice Thing.
