These eyes? Ares wanted to know what I was doing with my iPad!
The stare off… No, Asty and Ares are actually just chilling in the catio, this photo just caught them when they were looking at each other rather than anywhere else. #CatPhotos #cats #photography
#Lamorna in #Cornwall - featuring a random pirate ship*, because why not? #CornwallPhotos #Photography #seascapes *if it’s not, it looks like it
Someone is very sleeeepy and had a long morning in the sun in the catio. #cats #CatPhotos
Um, Asty? I don’t think that’s how running machines are supposed to be used… #Caturday #kitten #CatPhotos #cats
Astrophe has taken rather firmly to my son, who will willingly take allergy tablets every day in order to cuddle with the #kitten. #CatPhotos #cats
It’s tough waking up in the morning if you’re a small kitten (or a considerably larger adult, but the photos aren’t so cute then). #cats #CatPhotos
My older cat Ares has got to the “grooming the new kitten before curling up and falling asleep with her” stage so I think all is well with the world. #cats #CatPhotos
Yes, Asty has more of a British shorthair head shape. My previous cats have all had pointier faces - I had a Tonkinese in the past - so I have to admit that to me Asty’s face does look a little “squished” and I’m trying to get used to it :) (Comparison pic of Asty and Ares [toyger])
So beautiful ❤️ Do you know, I almost said, “she’ll also lick your nose if you’re really lucky…”? Does it make your mouth tingle when yours does that or is it a weird autism thing i have? Despite Asty’s looks, she’s officially a moggy, unlike her adoptive brother who’s a Toyger.
If you could hear Astrophe, you’d usually hear her purring if she’s anywhere near a person. The idea that she might get petted is enough to have her purring, and actually petting is very pleasing. You may get your fingers licked in return.
Asty was very cuddly this morning, though she wasn’t at all sure about the camera.
Definitely friends, they had a brief grooming session after, but it’s difficult to take decent pictures of that, especially from about a foot away…
I mentioned this is now a home for pictures of Asty, the new kitten, right? She showed that fish who was boss.
This is now a place for pictures of my new kitten. For Reasons.
I can haz new kitten. This is Asty (sorry, Astrophe Épée), and yesterday she was not at all pleased to be here and hid in a corner. Today, however, she wanted to purr and play.
This is her friend-to-be, Ares. He is rather like Tigger: will bounce at you and not understand why you might not be pleased. I’m worried that he may find that if he’s been hissed at for it, it may mean Asty isn’t therefore willing to curl up with him later, as Zula did.
I have to wait another ten days to bring her home, because she’s not twelve weeks yet, but it does mean she gets extra time with her siblings..,
We are getting a kitten soon :) This is Asty, short for Astrophe.
You can’t get a much more typically #CornishPhoto than of a tin mine with the sea in the background. #photography #Cornwall #NorthCoast

Thanks to @angelygogledd.bsky.social for this gorgeous picture of #StIves taken today. You can see from the light why artists love it; and it looks like a picture in itself. #CornwallPhotos #photography #Cornwall
#StandingStoneSunday? Have a picture of my favourite, #LanyonQuoit - or as my kid called it when he was tiny, “turtle rock” because he thought it looked like a turtle with one leg fallen off (This isn’t a great angle to show that). I’ve only ever seen cows there once in my life.
Now, I realise everyone else who has posted #WorstBirdPic s have actually posted pretty decent photos. However…this is a mass of gulls mobbing fishing boats and I’m posting it because it was amazing irl, but my iPad camera just wasn’t good enough to show it, so it’s hilariously terrible as a photo!
Rainbow in the sky above #StMichael’sMount, taken from #Penzance. It is landing on the island, which needs the sign of hope after over 80 of the trees there were blown down in last month’s storm.
A #seascape today, for a peaceful scene. #Gwythian looking towards #StIves. #Cornwall #Cornishphotos #photography
