Thanks to the ants tickling, the first of Granny's peonies are opening. I've taken care of them for 24 years since she passed and they have moved with me when I had space (or lived at my dad's). They were her favorite flower. They are pretty hardy it seems.
Though we need the rain I am glad it is mild and sunny. I needed some time in the dirt to disconnect and find some inner peace so I can face the challenges again. My garden/grove has been neglected for a few years due to depression and anxiety.
Side project my wife does is plant random veggie left overs. This is a cabbage core sprouting. It will go nicely with the white onions, green onions, and garlic planted just to see what happens.
