And here's the full art! converting the UI into a stadium court was pretty fun, and I also liked conveying each color's terrain effects. Not the flashiest, but definitely one of the funniest gimmicks for a stadium I've done.

This court starts as a blank canvas with nothing special, but that changes quickly when the paintbrushes start drawing! They can draw many different colored lines, each of which change the terrain in some way. Here's a rundown of the 15 colors - Red creates lava; Orange is bouncy; Yellow increases speed; Green slows you down; Teal creates fog; Cyan creates ice; Blue creates a water current that pushes you; Burnt Orange creates quicksand; Brown will bury you; Tan creates a higher platform you can jump on; Purple reverses controls; Black creates a pit you can fall into; Dark Gray creates an unbreakable concrete wall; Light Gray decreases gravity; and finally, White erases other colors, turning it back to normal.

He cares little for the wellbeing of his employees in the face of profits, and the gold trophy of the Spikers League is a REALLY valuable target! He's covered himself in a thick Voided Terrain, which lets him laugh off even the strongest of attacks! The Null & Voided attack lets him drop a Terravoider that makes the surrounding area Voided Terrain, giving teammates Voided armor as well! Just be careful to not catch opponents in it. Emerald Smash, his Super Spike, has him fly the Pay-Dirt Piledriver - which has been remodeled to be made of explosive emerald - into the ball!

MARIO TENNIS FEVER i initially skipped out on this one, but thanks to the update I actually got to play a few rounds of this with my friend @krexxal.bsky.social yeah this game's pretty fun. the gimmick courts are far and away the best part, especially the new Galaxy one having prankster comets

something neat i like about how I drew this, when looking up Gaugau's official art to reference, I noticed it had similar overalls to Wario. So i thought it would be fun to add Wario-esque proportions (you can mainly see it in the legs). I think this turned out to be a cool reinterpretation

These wolves are some of the more dangerous members of Captain Syrup's Black Sugar Gang. They're armed with knives that they throw with pinpoint accuracy, and they also make for good weapons in close quarters. It's dangerous to face them head-on, even for someone like Wario, so they're best dealt with from the back. The Gaugau gang has brought a whole set of their sharpest, strongest knives to the Spikers League. The Sharp-Shooter technique allows them to throw one of their knives straight ahead. They're small and easily dodged, but they're also incredibly quick, can hit multiple opponents in a row, and if there's a wall or hazard, the knife will stick them to it for a short time. It's one of the best projectiles in the whole league!

yeah that's what I'm trying to figure out. I did do something similar for Kongo Jungle where the background had "blobs" that are a bit more distinct than what I did here but still didn't require me to sketch like 20+ NPCs - maybe this is a bit closer to what I'd want to do?

The ! Blocks you see all over Dinosaur Land are activated by pressing any of the giant ! Switches, each hidden away in their own Switch Palace. You'll need to find a secret exit or two in order to get to these, but they can open up new paths once you press one! One of these Switch Palaces has been hollowed out into a Spikers League stadium, and the court is built entirely from the colored ! Blocks. Every so often, one of the ! Switches will float over the court, and attacking it makes all ! Blocks of the corresponding color vanish. Press it again, and they'll instantly reappear. Oh, and there's a pit below the blocks, so anyone who gets dropped in because of bad positioning will be out of the game for a short time.

With a fast Ostro and a fire-breathing Cobrat that never misses, he's never once been caught, and anyone who's tried haven't lived to tell the tale. The Flower Cup is Despurado's most recent heist, and his combination of speed, power, and range have helped ensure it stays in his possession. He can fire a fast-flying fireball with the Quick-Draw Ace attack, setting opponents on fire in a flash. Despurado brings out the big guns for his Super Spike, High Noon, where he brings out a Cobrat shotgun and lands a clean strike on the ball.

Sledge, a Koopa OC resembling Boom Boom or the Koopalings with orange skin, a black cape with matching sandals, and red-and-green eyes. He also has a black paintbrush similar to Bowser Jr.'s. The paint on the brush, as well as his mohawk, resemble the pink-orange-yellow goop that appears on Delfino Airstrip and Noki Bay in Super Mario Sunshine.

For @skullytrickybonez.bsky.social, her OC Skully! Pretty funky design, and since it was easy to do I included her alternate version. Had a lot of fun with adapting this one to my style. Hope you like it!

Skully, a skull demon OC who has a white-and-pink head, blue and red wings, a blue long-sleeved dress, and a long tail that ends in a glowing bulb. She also has a skull-shaped hairclip on one of her horns, and heart-shaped patches all over her drooped ears.

An slightly different design of Skully, with black eyes and her catlike mouth replaced with that of a skull.

TLDR in the alt text, I think I got the major ones down

- Kamek has been trapped inside Mr. E for years, long enough for Bowser to grow up and have a child. When Kamek sees Jr., he mistakes him for Baby Bowser. When they leave and return, Kamek sees Bowser grown up and asks "How long was I gone!?" with tears in his eyes. This implies the game takes place sometime after the Yoshi's Island saga but before the present day - I'm going with the idea it happens just after Sunshine and just before Galaxy 1 and NSMB Wii.
- The moon is actually a giant Crazee Dayzee. Crazee Dayzees are shown to grow into trees, and the one depicted in Mr. E grew large enough to become the size of the moon. This recontextualizes all instances of the moon's presence, including but not limited to TTYD, Odyssey, and DKC Returns.
- Mr. E was created by an unseen professor to chronicle all the creatures of the world before the moon would crash-land onto the planet's surface. As such, Mr. E is a time capsule of sorts of the state of the world before this catastrophic crash. This implies that the recurring Yoshi enemies, such as Shy Guys, Nep-Enuts, etc., are all ancient species. The crash is also shown during the final battle, where the moon is dislodged from its place and is about to crash land on the planet's surface. This also implies the moon seen in the present day is another Crazee Dayzee that grew large enough to take its place.

the twist with Kamek at the end of Mysterious Book is super well-written because A) he's always calling Bowser Jr. "young master" and not just "Bowser," and B) Baby Bowser and Bowser Jr. have retroactively become more and more synonymous with one another (to the point where in Crafted World he is functionally Bowser Jr. in everything but name) so it makes sense Kamek would confuse the two

you would expect "Kamek was stuck in Mr. E for long enough to miss Bowser growing up and having a child" to have a bunch of problems with continuity with previous games but it ends up working out since Kamek only started appearing in the main Mario series in Galaxy 1 / NSMB Wii. so placing Mysterious Book somewhere between Sunshine and Galaxy 1 / NSMB Wii (depending on if the Magikoopa at the beginning of Galaxy is supposed to be Kamek) fits almost too perfectly.

it even explains why Kammy Koopa never showed up again in modern games, she got fired when Kamek came back lmao

Perks like this are incredibly helpful when it comes to Emerald Rush! Finding them will boost your emerald multipliers, which grants you way more emerald. Bare-Knuckle Beat is one of the more straightforward ones - you'll get 300% more emerald for defeating enemies with your bare fists, for the next 10 enemies. This perk has been refitted as a Spikers League item, and a very useful one at that! When active, you can get two extra Coins every time your team attacks enemies with physical, non-special abilities. It'll last for the next 10 opponents you attack. When charged, the perk not only lasts twice as long, but every attack gives your team 4 Coins! A close-range fighter like Donkey Kong or Broozer would love to have this.

DK CHALLENGE Fun overall but a bit of a mixed bag. The challenges for the NSO games are all just beating one or two levels in each game, which was kinda lame. Most of Bananza's were just as simple, but the difficult ones were you had to engage with the game in unique was were really cool
