Today, my Legislative Director attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for Upbeat Nutrition’s grand opening on Central Ave. This event was held in partnership with the Colonie Chamber of Commerce.

What a great day at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society! I am incredibly grateful to Honorable Speaker of the New York State Assembly Carl E. Heastie for joining me in Menands today and announcing $1.2 million in funding for the Humane Society's new Behavioral Rehabilitation and Outreach Center.

I want to thank OASAS Commissioner Cunningham for coming to Schenectady on her statewide listening tour Friday to hear from constituents on their concerns regarding substance use disorder treatment, recovery services, and emerging challenges such as problem gambling.

Village of Colonie, we're coming to you! If you have questions about a state agency, need help navigating a problem, or simply want to share what's on your mind, my team is bringing our district office to the Village of Colonie.

These conversations are one of the most important parts of my job. They give me the opportunity to hear directly from the people I represent about the issues that matter most, answer your questions, and discuss what's happening in Albany and here in our community.

As traffic volumes continue to increase along this corridor, it is critical that we prioritize the safety of motorists, pedestrians, cyclists, and nearby residents. These proposed improvements are an important step toward addressing longstanding safety concerns along Route 7.

I was pleased to see that the updated proposal includes a signalized intersection at Hickory Road, along with crosswalks and pedestrian accommodations. This is a safety improvement that I have been advocating for throughout this process, and I am encouraged to see it included in the latest plans.

I attended last night's New York State Department of Transportation Open House regarding the proposed Route 7 improvements and appreciated the opportunity to hear directly from residents and review the latest plans.

While I do not support making these kinds of significant changes so close to an election and wish this information had been communicated to voters much earlier, I want to do everything I can to help ensure people know where to vote today.

I congratulate Transworld Business Advisors on the opening of their new office and I look forward to working with them to help the small businesses here in the 110th lAssembly District.

Since our is home to hundreds of small businesses, I frequently hear from owners about the challenges they face on a daily basis. This year, I introduced legislation to help our small businesses by limiting the power the state has when issuing penalties for good faith paperwork errors.

On Friday, I attended a ribbon cutting for Transworld Business Advisors of Albany’s new office in Colonie. Transworld Business Advisors provides essential services and guidance to small businesses and entrepreneurs as they navigate the everyday challenges of owning a small business.

Today we recognize Juneteenth, a day that marks the end of slavery in the United States and reminds us of the long struggle to make the promise of freedom a reality for everyone.

This recognition is a testament to the generations of farmers, cooperative members, staff, and community supporters who have helped make the Capital District Regional Market such a valued institution in the Capital Region.

As someone who lives nearby and enjoys visiting the Market, I know firsthand the important role it plays in bringing people together and supporting local agriculture.

For more than 90 years, the Market has been a cornerstone of our region, connecting local farmers, food producers, artisans, and small businesses with the community while helping strengthen New York's agricultural economy.

Just a reminder that my office will be holding mobile office hours tomorrow at Guilderland Town Hall from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Their hard work, dedication, and passion for learning have earned them recognition on the national stage and brought tremendous pride to our community.

I was proud to introduce an outstanding group of students from the Niskayuna Central School District on the Assembly floor. These students have achieved success at the highest levels of academic competition, representing NY in both the National Science Bowl and the National Masterminds Competition

As we celebrate Pride Month, we recognize the countless contributions that LGBTQ+ individuals have made to our communities, our state, and our country. Happy Pride!

My Legislative Director and our summer intern attended a ceremony held by the Albany County Veterans Service Bureau to present 14 banners that will be flying across the county honoring individual veterans from our area.

I’m doing everything I can to keep utility bills down and protect the planet. That’s why I cosponsored the SUNNY Act at the request of a constituent, which just passed the Assembly. The SUNNY Act (A.9111-C) would remove regulatory barriers to small plug-in solar devices.

I was proud to stand with One Fair Wage supporters at the Capitol to continue pushing for the passage of my legislation to eliminate subminimum wage for individuals with disabilities.

I was proud to stand with advocates in support of my legislation, A10993A, because enough is enough. The Public Service Commission continues to pass huge costs onto ratepayers while major utility corporations continue to benefit.

It was great to welcome local students to the Capitol to shadow me and members of my team. They had the opportunity to see firsthand how state government works, join me in the Assembly Chamber, visit the State Library, and learn more about the work that goes into serving our communities each day.

Organizations like Together for Youth play an important role in strengthening our communities and ensuring young people have the support they need to thrive. Thank you for all that you do each and every day.

I was especially proud to recognize the organization’s work right here in the Capital Region, where they continue to make a meaningful difference for local children and families.

Yesterday, I was proud to welcome individuals from Together for Youth to the New York State Assembly Chamber. Together for Youth provides critical mental health, counseling, education, and family support services that help young people succeed both in school and in life.
