I'm getting into Mike Oldfield's Ommadawn album from 1975 - sounds refreshingly different from what his contemporaries were doing in progressive rock and ambient music at the time.
When I grew up in the 1990s, guys like Rod Stewart were the epitome of uncool. Many, many years later and I can't believe how good this record is - I've been playing it nonstop for months.

I only just realized that Coil's John Balance was barely in his 40s when he died in 2004. Loved their super weird later period albums like Time Machines and Musick to Play in the Dark.
