I just got back from some vacation and on the trip I was lucky enough to see 11 BROWN BEARS! 😱 I hope you’re ready for some serious bear content
I think there were 3 young in all, but they kept to the reeds so it was hard to get an accurate count
Their mom spent the morning before roosted out in the open next to the nest tree, so in retrospect they were probably just about ready to fledge at that point.
The second pair of Great Horned Owl fledglings from the next nest over has appeared! 🦉 #birds
There were actually two individuals foraging bugs in the marsh, based on the timing they might have been bringing food back to a nest.
I didn’t get much of a look at the pup(s) but mom stood there for a minute making sure I wasn’t going to be an issue.
They definitely remind you despite how cute they may sometimes look they are still apex predators
They already had the crow at dawn when I got there, she stashed most of the body away and they ate the wing in the morning
