Carl Sagan knew where we were headed, back in the mid-nineties. It is worth reviewing his insights about where we are now.

One paragraph quote from page 28 of Carl Sagan book titled The Demon Haunted World: Science As A Candle in the Dark, published in 1996. The paragraph begins "The dumbing down of America is most evident in the slow decay of substantive content in the enormously influential media" and ends with "a kind of celebration of ignorance."
