this happened in front of me a full decade and a half ago but i simply don't touch countertops at stores anymore. don't worry i sanitized it afterwards. you know, as a courtesy to the next kid.

a parent is ordering food at a dunkin donuts and their child, perfectly counter-height, has decided the best course of action is to rest their mouth on the edge of the counter while peering overtop, and to also lick it a lot.

hot tips for if anyone is in this exact situation: "My old phone screen does not show images or respond to touch, but i want to transfer data to my new phone without paying to replace the old screen". context- i use a pixel phone (google, android)

use a USB -> USBC converter to plug a USB keyboard into the phone
"[space] -> [your pin] -> [enter]" will unlock it, if it's like mine and sometimes ignoes fingerprints and wants the pin. You should hear the unlock sound.
remove keyboard and plug in a USB mouse.
hold down both volume buttons for a few seconds to enable screen reader mode. it's loud, you'll know when it worked. It instructs you to "swipe" to toggle options. mouse movements will be the "swiping".
begin activation on your new phone, following instructions from your carrier. the screen reader will immediately read prompts on your old phone as they pop up automatically.
the mouse will enable you to toggle options (there may even be haptic feedback!) clicking (or double clicking) will select. Pray you're clicking the right thing to navigate to whatever "continue" button is necessary. The camera will turn on automatically if it wants you to scan a QR code. You should be able aim it okay. The screen reader will tell you when it prompts you to continue setup on the new device. You shouldn't need to touch anything on the old phone anymore!
This all worked on two GOOGLE PIXEL phones specifically (3a and 10), transferring wirelessly. i can't guarantee other types of phones.
Anyway I just avoided spending over $100 on a new screen, but it took hours to figure this all out, so I feel like I should share.

If any one of these steps doesn't work, sorry I can't help you, but it was surprisingly straightforward! googling about this makes it seem impossible to do anything if you haven't previously set up your phone to cast to a computer. the key was activating the screen reader. thank goodness for accessibility features!

Slowly filling out some core groups... I wanted to avoid certain cheats with Laala and Mirei's eyes, and they look pretty good I think! It feels a bit generic to make Mario Luigi miis but I went for M&L-style to liven them up. Peasley is a little more like how I used to draw him #TomodachiLifeLTD
