Mission: Impossible – Fallout (2018) Yeah this is probably the best one. The cinematography in the helicopter chase goes crazy. The best finale yet by far.
Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation (2015) This one is also very good. The shift in Hunt's character and the way everyone is glazing him now is very funny to me.
Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011) The best one yet. Just a perfection of everything the series had been prior. The Mission: Impossible theme swelling as Cruise runs down the Burj Khalifa is euphoric.
Mission: Impossible III (2006) Got so mad when I realized that the Rabbit's Foot is a mystery box. Pretty good otherwise.
Mission: Impossible II (2000) It's okay. It takes a long time to get going, but once it does we get some mostly fun dumb action. However, it kind of annoys me aesthetically.
Mission: Impossible (1996) Really good first entry. Love the way this one looks.
Rashomon (1950) Rewatch: It's never been my favorite Kurosawa film, but it does look really pretty and Mifune plays an insane guy, so it's still really good.
The Human Condition II: Road to Eternity (1959) Not quite as strong as the first one, but still the best movie ever.
The Human Condition I: No Greater Love (1959) This completely floored me. Incredible.
Well that's every Bond film. Here's my tentative ranking. These films are genuinely so hard to rank because I feel exactly the same about a lot of them. boxd.it/UNwEA
Die Another Day (2002) God. There's some good concepts here (POW Bond, villain being evil Bond), but it quickly devolves into baffling nonsense leading to probably the worst finale in the series. They really let you know what to expect by starting with the worst intro song in the franchise.
The World is Not Enough (1999) A pretty mid tier Bond film. Not awful, but still has good stuff I can latch on to. Elektra is a pretty good villain, there's some good action, and Brosnan is pretty good here again. Just wish it was more interesting.
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997) I liked this one way more than GoldenEye. The action is way better here and is close to non-stop. I also buy Brosnan as Bond much more this time around. I really can't hate the Michelle Yeoh Bond film.
Goldeneye (1995) It's okay. Kinda disappointing considering the reputation the N64 game gives it. There's not that much that really stands out here. The tank chase was fun though. Also I'm shocked it took them this long to make a Bond girl that falls into the "horny for murder" trope.
John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) Better than the first one. Gave me much more of what I wanted. Also I love this stupid nonsense world where everyone is an assassin.
Licence to Kill (1989) Just as peak as The Living Daylights. Dalton is two for two and I think I'd call him my favorite Bond now. I always love a pissed off Bond. Pam Bouvier is also maybe my favorite Bond girl. I love the gritter edge here. Definitely one of my favorites.
The Living Daylights (1987) It’s so fucking peak. Dalton is immediately an incredible Bond (the sniper scene is so cool) and is thrown into great action scene after great action scene. They basically do the plane sequence from Uncharted 3 and it’s awesome.
A View to a Kill (1985) It's fun enough, but really would've benefited from a younger Bond. Still so much better than Never Say Never Again though.
Never Say Never Again (1983) A dull remake of a movie that I didn't like.
Casino Royale (1954) Interesting as a piece of trivia, but not much beyond that. Peter Lorre is kind of perfect casting though.
Octopussy (1983) The plot kinda makes no sense, but it's still a lot of fun. Also very hard to not laugh whenever they say "Octopussy".
For Your Eyes Only (1981) So many good chase sequences in this one. Also the exploding car is maybe my favorite joke in the franchise.
Supergirl (2026) A bad adaptation of a comic that I didn’t love that much beyond the artwork.
