According to the NYTimes, he answered the door wearing a suit and tie. Weird that he wears a suit and tie when recuperating at home. At least there is proof of life for his wife who has also been missing. I want to know what he’s been doing for the last 112 days!

Sunny bright yellow evening primrose flowers. Bright clusters of 3 flowers at the end of a green stem. Each flower consists of 4 wide, heart-shaped petals that form a gentle cupped saucer. At the center of each flower you can see eight long, yellow stamens topped with pollen-rich anthers. The flower stalks have broad, pointy green leaves that create a bright contrasting background for the lemon-colored flowers.

The NJ weather went from winter freeze to summer heat in the span of 3 weeks. Daytime highs of 30 F to 92 F (-1 C to 33 C). The trees had barely any leaves to suddenly everything flowering in a hurry. Blossoms on my ornamental cherry tree are gorgeous.

Here are my snowdrops from March 2025. Hopefully in 2 months they’ll be back.

Delicate snowdrop flowers grow in a cluster emerging from soil covered in dry, brown pine straw . The downward facing flowers burst from the end of deep green stalks surrounded by long strappy leaves. These flowers are growing in New Jersey (US) and were photographed on 16-March 2025.

I found this twig in my yard with this fancy lichen growing on it. I think it is Parmotrema perlatum, or powdered ruffle lichen.

Upon a weathered wooden board rests a slender gray twig that separates into 2 thin twigs. At the base of the twig there is a patch of powdered ruffle lichen that is about 3 inches long and one inch wide. The lichen specimen is a dull gray with just a hint of green. What is remarkable about this lichen species is that at its base where the lichen is attached to the twig it grows like a papery thin sheet until, at the outer end it erupts into a twisted curly ruffle. It’s a very fancy lichen!
