A lovely young woman. Author of the GALAXY series, JUSTICE LEAGUE: DREAM GIRLS, HAWKGIRL, THE DC BOOK OF PRIDE, and THE WIZARD, THE WITCH & THE WILD ONE graphic novel. She/Her Agent: @inthesestones.bsky.social
Rearranging the bookshelves in the living room, which means I am slowly Fortunato-ing myself with comics.
Not to mention the release of GALAXY: AS THE WORLD FALLS DOWN and shorts in MONSTERS IN LOVE and WITCHING SEASON! It's been quite a summer.
Just started playing a FALLOUT rpg run by @assumptionprime.bsky.social, and this is my character 500-Z-Q, or as she calls herself, Suzie Q. Suzie has left her life as the robot sex slave to a vault-dweller behind, and is looking to emulate her favorite TV heroine, Starlight Fortune.
I, of course, have opinions about superheroes being sin-eaters, bearing the collective weight of lost opportunity, only to find themselves again in the friendship of a girl from another planet.
Those old Sheldon Meyer stories are so great. True Golden Age gems.
This is what I'm talking about when I say how incredible it is that DC Comics put out an interconnected story over three months with a double-sized special, a graphic novel and miniseries focused on two trans women, one of whom is an out lesbian.
Galaxy: The Prettiest Star Bad Dream: A Dreamer Story Galaxy: As The World Falls Down In that order.
I am obscenely proud of the paper child @deuxdel.bsky.social and have created. She's a fictional superhero who's saved people's lives in the real world. Not all of them do that.
Oh, graphic novels, easy. When @ryehickman.bsky.social and I were pitching PRINCESS NIGHTMARE, I was inflexible about it being a GN. Individual issues are fun, but gimme a couple hundred pages to work with, please and thank you.
I'm saving that for the origin of Still, Galaxy's supervillain ex-girlfriend.
Not for Galaxy specifically, no. But they do a mean Flaming Fisherman's Folly.
Also, Galaxy using "Taylor" means that when we do see her name on Cyandii, it's a great shorthand for Taylor's past catching up with her.
She didn't get her new body perfectly right, which is why she still has an Adam's Apple.
This is why you need to read the books! Taylor changes her body with a device called an Ehsar in GALAXY: AS THE WORLD FALLS DOWN. Her body makes her own female hormones now.
This was something I gave a lot of thought to, but in the end, Taelyr was name she was given as a baby, and Taylor is the identity she crafted on Earth.
...giving it Kat. I sent Nicole the bit in GALAXY: AS THE WORLD FALLS DOWN where Taylor and Nia talk about their trans experience in Taylor's school dream almost as soon as I wrote it, because I wanted to make sure it was right. And it was, because Nicole didn't have any notes.
We do a lot of back and forth through texts and phone calls, just because we talk to each other a lot in texts and phone calls. I got to see the Galaxy stuff in BAD DREAM early, and almost all of it was spot on--one joke seemed out of character for Taylor, but it was a good joke, so I suggested...
Royce Axelrod from the STATIC SHOCK tv show and Gus Axelrod from ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR are the only ones I know of.
