What makes a meadow a national treasure? 🌼 Rich wildlife, carbon-storing soils and natural flood protection. Yet, we’re at risk of losing them forever. Help protect and restore these precious places. Please donate today 💚 - joinplantlife.org/3QVruKz
It’s National Meadows Day! Let's put meadows where they belong - at the heart of our story.💚 They are living links to our past, part of our culture and communities, and vital homes for wildlife. 🌱 But they’re in decline — under pressure from development, pollution and intensive farming. 🧵[1/2]
For centuries meadows have shaped the history of our landscapes and been central to our culture.🌸 But overtime, they have disappeared. Let's save them for #NationalMeadowsDay on Saturday! 📸Share your meadow story on 4 July ✍️Write to your MP calling for better support 👉https://loom.ly/q4lZwvw
Known as the meadow maker, Yellow Rattle helps wildflowers by keeping fast‑growing grasses in check, giving flowers more space to grow. With recent hot temperatures, it’s already set seed in some places in southern England. Now’s a good time to keep an eye out in other areas too. 👀
Insects are often overlooked, yet they play vital roles in nature. Some, like bees and butterflies, help plants reproduce through pollination. One of the easiest ways to help? Put the mower away. Let lawns bloom and give pollinators food, shelter and space to thrive. 🌼🐝 #InsectWeek #LetItBloom
Wildflowers have been out in full force, signalling the arrival of summer! While June is almost over, there is plenty of time to spot these flowers.🌸 From magenta pinks to sunflower yellows, they’re bringing a burst of colour to our grasslands, verges, woodlands and coasts. Have you spotted any?
