Annapurna seemed restless this morning. We haven't played fetch in a while because I didn't know what happened to all her favorite fetching toys. so I swept under the office daybed and got a lot more treasure than expected. She started rolling around right away, so pumped to play fetch.

My Tidal Rewind... Kind of annoying to screenshot and tedious to write alt text for lists but here we are

No Rest for the Weary!! I got to the last batch before I figured out a title lol. And this one took a while because I decided to change the ending from the one I posted on Patreon. I definitely think it's better now. Thanks to everyone for your support on this one! I'll make a print copy later on

Page 49. panel 1 has Meryl in the driver's seat of her car again. Vash's shoulder is visible in the back seat. Meryl narrates, "Would they have parted ways if they truly understood each other?" Panel 2: Vash looks out of the back seat window, chin on his hand. Meryl narrates: "Could something have been said to convince the priest to choose Vash?" Panel 3: Meryl drives while behind her, Milly sleeps in the back seat. Meryl narrates: So long as we can't see the future, it seems like regret is inevitable."

Pages 50-51 are a spread. Panel 1 is the largest image and features the car driving through the desert. Meryl narrates: "But for a man whose regrets seem endless, he treasures simple joys more than anyone. He will never let life go to waste. But I hope he can tell me Wolfwood's story one day." In panel 2, Vash calls Meryl's name. In panel 3, Meryl looks back over her shoulder, saying "Hm?" Panel 4, we see the car driving through the sand. From the outside, Vash speaks. "I know where we should go next."

Page 44: Panels 1-2 pan down on to Jill and Vash talking. Jill says "I'm sorry about today. For kidnapping you and dragging you into my mess." Panel 3 shows Vash with a sour face, saying "It happens to me a lot." Panel 4 is a shot from above. Jill begins to ask: "Did you..."

Page 45: Panel 1, Jill asks "Did you lose someone too?" We see Vash is silent. Panel 2, we see Jill's face but she averts her eyes. She says "You don't need to answer, I can tell." Panel 3 is tall with a thigh-up image of Vash. Jill's speech overlays him: "You look so cheerful on your wanted poster, but I haven't seen you smile once." Panel 4: A close-up of Vash's face, and his mouth, as she goes on. "You don't have to, though." Panel 5, we see Jill from her nose down as she gestures, speaking "We may never see each other again. Just let me give you one thing, okay?" Panel 6, Jill approaches Vash, with her arms out. "Maybe it'll help you smile."

Page 46: Panel 1, Jill presses her forehead to the collar of Vash's jacket. Panel 2, she wraps her arms to his shoulders. Panel 3 takes up most of the page and shows Jill embracing Vash as he stands with his arms at his sides.

The rescue I volunteer for finally has an Amazon wishlist. Here are some pictures of Pinatubo and Annapurna trying to steal my bike to hopefully inspire generosity. Most rescues would euthanize this pair for their FeLV diagnoses, but I get to foster these sweet goofballs instead.

Almost there, though I might actually cut a few pages from the end.

Page 38-39 spread. On the right, Meryl stands silently. On the left, a memory of Wolfwood has its back to her. Meryl recalls Jill's words: "If it was up to me, the price of his life was too high. But he faced it with all he had, with all the strength we gave each other, with all that I taught him."

Pages 40-41 are another spread, echoing more of Jill's words. On the right, Vash wipes his tears in a callback to the image of Jill on page 33. The recalled dialogue says "I'm so proud of him... But I wish... I wish he had chosen me instead!"

Page 42: Panel 1, Meryl recalls one more line from Jill, saying "It's not fair." Panel 2, Vash and Meryl stand side by side. Meryl says, "Oh Vash..."

Page 43: The top three panels show Vash's hand, and Meryl taking it in hers. In the bottom panel, the sun is coming up over the towering church, casting long shadows across the sand.
