Here are my 14 yo twin sons in 1990. Showed it today to the son in back and his girlfriend. She’s like, “Who’s the girl?” Um, me. So, there’s that. 😉
My back is fine but my index finger and thumb are hurting. Big-stitch quilting this for my daughter to take to the hospital to labor with. Expect Matilda Rose by the first week in August. And I’ll go at it again tomorrow.
#QuiltSky I am not having fun with the second block in the NMAI quilt along. I just don’t seem able to turn under the edges of my appliquéd design. I followed the technique on the YouTube video to the tee but it’s a mess of curves and points. Ick! I’ll have to raw edge stitch it.
I plan to try something strange with it. Maybe fracture it. IDK. I had a whisper quilt to finish and get in the mail first. That’s done and done so this’ll be next. Here’s my Whisper.

@hermiteveryday.bsky.social @3dbeads.bsky.social I am not conceiving of a meadow or brook per se. I decided to make an abstract world and couch the words of a poem about my conception of a quiet place in the framework of the blocks. Here’s the quilt top. I’ll send the poem next.
I also have a 12x12 of a home in Acoma Pueblo. It’s so quiet there. There’s no electricity and water has to be hauled up to the mesa. It’s called the Sky Pueblo. In NM. When we lived in Albuquerque we went to the top of the mesa several times. Quite spiritual.

I’m doing a QAL to celebrate our national history on the 250th anniversary. It’s with the Smithsonian Museum of American Indians. americanindian.si.edu/quilting/ and here is my first block.
I’m trying as well. I fortunately unfortunately have a granddaughter due in August so there are “requests” but I’m making a quilt for my daughter to labor with—all stash scraps. I kinda like the wildness of it.

Lost my Westie, Jewel, on the last day of 2025. This week I gave in and got a little guy to grow old with. (I forgot how insanely time consuming puppies are!) But, here’s my new heart.
Here, I was thinking pillows made of the random hexies but then we moved and decor changed so I used the hexies like fabric in the double wedding ring piece. I fussy cut images in 1 1/2 inch hexies. You can do anything you want with them. So versatile.
Jewel was 16. She had a very full life. Westie’s are apparently long lived and we took very good care of her. Hope your boi is doing well. Good to touch base. Take care in these troubling times. Resist. March 28. No kings!

It’s addicting. I mostly make art quilts these days but I always have my hexie papers and strips and needle beside my recliner. When I’m watching tv I EPP.
