I think Jen's intro is my favorite. It's also Ocean Ghost Detection's opening.
If you see this, post your fictional mentor. Briony Tallis from Ian McEwan's Atonement was extremely formative to my perception of writing as a path to meaning. This book and its movie adaptation were the yardstick by which I judged my stories for most of my college years.
Pearlshot Cyber has ties to a high-end cult known as the Western Paradox Church, built largely on a distortion of myths recorded by a nun named Callisto Magdalena from the lectures of traveling scholar Bryone of Illystria. This excerpt includes some passages from Callisto's records. (2/2)
