Got to see one of my favourite paintings (Norham Castle Sunrise, Turner) in person today at the National Gallery, Edinburgh. Worth zooming in for...

JMW Turner's 1845 masterpiece, Norham Castle, Sunrise. Almost totally abstract oil painting, a blurry blue blob in the centre of a white/blue glow in the sky (gentle yellow hint of dawn) and possibly a deer reflected in the water in the centre of the picture.
