We are experiencing a major seabird starvation die off event in Santa Barbara County in California. Grebes, Cormorants, Pelicans, Loons, Surf Scoters it’s been very sad and extra stressful answering our Wildlife helpline this month.

Oh, I am so thrilled we already follow one another. This is my favorite small bird. I am so obsessed with nuthatches I also have a family. I’m so lucky I saw babies last year and I’m hoping to see some this year. Love those little fellows so much. I watch them cache Peanuts in my big tree.

We had a candlelight vigil in Santa Barbara last night as many places did for all of the victims of ICE. I was unable to go, so I put a candle out on my porch which I will have on every night now. 😪
