Scholl's memoir, "The White Rose": "The conservative Christian parties smoothed Hitler's path to power. Ten years later, Germany was a hotbed of robbers and rapists who waged war against all of Europe..." The Scholls lived through the Nazi era in Germany. posthypnoticpress.com/product/the-...
Everything old is new again! Mary Titcomb, librarian of the Washington County Free Library, Maryland, is generally credited with launching the first bookmobile. She used a horse-drawn wagon to deliver books throughout the county. bookmobiles.wordpress.com/2013/02/28/t...
"It is the first audio production of this beloved classic – and for me, it’s the fulfillment of a career-long dream. I searched for years for a producer who would share my commitment to it and could help me with rights and marketing..." Then she met me! :) heatherannehenderson.com/2014/07/04/a...
The Curve of Time by M. Wylie Blanchet is perfect summer listening! An audiobook you can revisit again and again. As a British Columbian, I was aware of this book, but it was Heather Henderson's passion for this project that brought it to life. #audiobook www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWjN...
Do you love animals? Looking for a feel-good audiobook? "Great narration to fit the stories of animals that are so endearing. I appreciated the organization of the book, so you hear stories of multiple animals exhibiting one characteristic. This book is a gem!" www.audible.com/pd/B09M4F8N1...
Hayden Panettiere narrated Belinda Recio's books and did a FANTASTIC job. I was honoured to work with her. She wanted to be sure that her narration would keep the attention of her daughter, then just 4 years old. She nailed it. Both adults and kids LOVE her narration.
When I was young, if one suggested that animals could do half the things they are capable of, one was accused of "anthropomorphism." Turns out, "anthropomorphism" is really just another term for "human arrogance." If you love animals, you'll love this audiobook. www.audible.ca/pd/B09M4C5P4...

Why not books? Better yet, why not audiobooks?
History is a window into the future. From the introduction of "The White Rose" by Inge Scholl: "The conservative Christian parties smoothed Hitler's path to power. Ten years later, Germany was a hotbed of robbers and rapists who waged war against all of Europe..." mysoundwise.com/soundcasts/1...
Last Hummingbird West of Chile is a lyrical, darkly comic 19th-century adventure told through many voices (human, animal, & natural) exploring colonialism, race, privilege, & humanity’s bond with nature. Doyle steers the listener smoothly through this engaging novel. mysoundwise.com/soundcasts/1...

Peter Wilken, author of Dim Sum Strategy & 10 Commandments, often mentions Cirque du Soleil as an example of a business that "owns a territory" in people's minds. They are an excellent example of this, but what I'm reminded of is my time at EXPO '86. I was fortunate @cirquedusoleil.bsky.social
was subtly fostered as early as the late 1800s. An infamous example was the Phoebus Cartel, a 1920s-1930s international agreement among major light bulb manufacturers, who plotted together to reduce the lifespan of lightbulbs by over 50% to ensure more sales. mysoundwise.com/soundcasts/1...
What goes into producing one finished hour of audio? Generally, for straightforward nonfiction, from 6 to 10 hours of work by a team of people. For fiction? More like 10 to 12 hours for one hour without any bells and whistles. Adding a soundscape and music adds hours of work. #audiobooks #books

I agree with you about people not reading, but it's not "the younger ones." "The 45-54 age group has the highest number of non-readers: 60.9%." testprepinsight.com/resources/us... As for whether audiobooks count as reading, research shows that they do. time.com/5388681/audi...

This edition includes a new intro by poet Bernard O'Donahue and 11 original colour images by Gráinne Fordham. I work on this when time permits. It occurred to me recently that, as I have to print the entire book in colour, anyway, why not use colour throughout? But is this too much? 📚💙 #booksky
I'm looking for advice. I've been working on a project: print/ebook editions of a book that combines both of W.B. Yeats' Irish fairy tale compilations. This will accompany our audiobook version read by Gerard Doyle. @bookgorilla.com @booksky-1.bsky.social @booksky.club @booksky.bsky.social
My mom loved jigsaw puzzles. We (kids, grandkids, great grandkids) all remember working on them with her, which was always accompanied by fun conversation. I've been thinking about her & adding jigsaw puzzles to our site. She would have loved this one. posthypnoticpress.com/product/jigs...
A gripping deep dive into the 1980 New Mexico prison riot—the deadliest in U.S. history—and the haunting fate of the Williams brothers. 🔥 True crime meets American tragedy 🎧 Narrated by Michael Puttonen 📖 Unflinching, human, unforgettable #TrueCrime #Nonfiction #Audiobooks #PrisonReform
We offer a recording of Caliban and the Witch. There were some issues in our original recording, & so we re-recorded it, providing the narrator more support. Fascinating book! You can get it directly from us - as an Indie publisher we always appreciate that! posthypnoticpress.com/product/cali...
One of the things I loved about producing this book was putting together the music. Heather Henderson, who narrated & co-produced, suggested that, as the radio was so important, we hear music from the era. I became obsessed with the idea & it resulted in one of my favorite reviews. :) #audiobooks
The author quotes primary sources throughout. We wanted listeners to hear this. Jesse Lipscombe delivered! One customer wrote "myriad narrators bring history to life" & another, "this featured what sounded like a cast of Black voices reading quotes. It was delightful, & I adored it."
If you love to learn about animals, check out Belinda Recio's "Inside Animal Hearts and Minds" and "When Animals Rescue, narrated by Hayden Panettiere, who was nominated for a Voice Arts Award for both titles and won for "When Animals Rescue." posthypnoticpress.com/team/recio-b...
As I get ready to put on an audiobook & do some housecleaning, I thought I'd post a few suggestions from our catalogue for relaxed listening. Something to take your mind off of the craziness we are all bombarded with daily. First up, some books about animals, because we LOVE animals. Here are my 2.
