This was from the season 2 episode "The Core" of G1 Transformers. A young fan who had a fatal degree of cancer adopted his line and other Optimus phrases to stay hopeful despite his conditions. Peter Cullen would then meet the fan in real life and gave those exact words of encouragement

Peter Cullen's response to a question asked by IGN interviewer Eric Goldman in 2012. Goldman asked what were the lines that struck a cord in his memory.

"There is more than one line. There are ones that certainly stand out more than others… "Hold on to your dreams. The future is built on dreams." This was from a young boy who eventually died of cancer, and he was into crocheting. He crocheted the image of Optimus Prime standing, having transformed, and his motto was, "Hold on to your dreams. The future is built on dreams." He never got to finish it, but the children in the hospital did, who were in his ward all suffering from similar or different circumstances, but certainly very, very sad, emotional... And to bring that to mind, that would be the most poignant, and I would say one that's most endured. [Editor's Note: Cullen said the next line in the Optimus voice, and yes, I got chills] "Hold on to your dreams. The future is built on dreams." And I just think of Michael, the young boy, and his heart and the effect that Optimus had on him and the hope that it gave him. So that's one. And "Till all are one," I think is a great line. There are so many."

One of my favorite instances of this has to be the Bowser's Minion side mode Every team member including the captains are just regular enemies and they get trounced over by higher ranking, Bowser members including, the Elite Trio. Yet they still prevailed to the very end of the game

The validity of these is... questionable. Kid was intended to be black as inspiration from Tiger Woods, but Camelot putting pink lips in his model had them course correct by... changing his skin to white. He is truly the only actually confirmed (Or visually confirmed in this case) character to be intended black in the franchise.
A Mario-design esque character is at the top. This is from the Game Boy port of Qix, where every high school has a victory screen of Mario in different countries. The photo is taken from when he was in Africa, and he's colored as if he were black.
Il Entissimo is on the left and is very debatable. When unmasked in the game's files he's supposed to be almost a direct remodel of the mailman from the Zelda N64 games, who had a lighter complexion.
