Volume 69 is, I believe, the last Gintama volume with no Zura in it. So this is my last freestyle pic. I drew him as an unsolved jigsaw puzzle. The "main image" has some pieces missing, while a few pieces from "other Zuras" have gotten mixed up into the bunch. #gintama #Katsurax77 #桂小太郎

Vol 66 sees the end of the Battle of Rakuyo arc and the start of the final and longest Gintama arc, the Silver Soul arc. #gintama #Katsurax77 #桂小太郎 I picked a heartbreaking if-only picture showing an alternate past that could perhaps have happened.

Volume 65 which focuses on Kagura's family has no Zura panels in it. I tried my hand at drawing in the style of haiga painting (associated with haiku). The rain and umbrella are there as a nod to the manga volume's Yato focus. #gintama #Katsurax77 #桂小太郎

Volume 64. #gintama #Katsurax77 #桂小太郎 The Joui Four reunion! I think this is the first time in this series that I've redrawn a canon panel in a more cartoony style, as opposed to doing freestyle doodles that way.

On the ground below them are irregular patterns suggesting irregularly cut stones, and they are surrounded by a huge inky blackness suggesting gunsmoke.

63, bonus drawing. This image of a self-sufficient and profoundly lonely child has always stuck with me. I felt it needed to be here, in dialogue with the other panel from this volume - but I didn't want this one to be the main image.

Bonus drawing from volume 62. A complex panel indeed, even if I left all of the background out!
