Evening swim! Felt lovely to float and look at the sky reminds me of the time I went for a swim here on a sunny day and picked up a french person who had just jumped out of a plane 😆

I loved "serious work, playful minds" by @laurayarrow.bsky.social when people feel empowered, have the autonomy to experiment and try things out, often more fulfilled and engaged "Make it safe to play!"

Making and play is at the heart of what it means to be human.

It's both deeply personal and profoundly social

This book is excellent So clear and relevant. Easy to read (which is a big compliment as a dyslexic person). Bonus is it's in a font size which doesn't make me feel I need to squint or hold the page next to my face

Miss the lake there! I heard there was a man who would tell people the deer were reindeers and charge them for rides One time a friend & I had gone for a walk and we got locked in 😂 This was taken in Wollaton, lots of memories!

Had a lovely evening @transformgovtalks.bsky.social highly recommend going! Intently listened to @jamestplunkett.bsky.social 'the energy at the edges'. Thought-provoking, has made me want to read and reflect more on 'rewilding' institutions and 'civic renewal'. "what we pay attention to grows"

At the moment we are giving almost all of our attention to the spectacle of the old system dying. This is a problem because building new systems is really hard work, and requires a lot of attention.

Sophia Parker has a lovely quote from adrienne marie brown in the post I linked above: "what we pay attention to, grows". It seems likely that we will only escape the doom spiral when we manage to redirect our attention to the kind of positive work I have described, and that means turning away from the middle to the edges.
