Craft Camp is happening in Estonia this week so I am watching updates of my camp friends make super cool stuff, go to interesting lectures, and wear jackets for all the outings while I get a stream of alerts about unsafe heat and air quality

The quilt guild set a summer challenge that gave me the push to start a project I had rattling around in my brain. Now I have about 500 words to embroider under and around the appliqué before I quilt it. I am enjoying stitching some Rage.

I moved the library/archives work space. IT won’t let me move my own computer but are currently unavailable to move it for me. I am pretty sure that means I get the afternoon off to rest.

Today I am asking the age old question: if I live in Queens and am craving an item from a bakery in Brooklyn (on a rainy holiday weekend), is it easier to just make it myself?

What did I do today? I went to a weird museum of 17 dioramas containing a combined total of 507 taxidermy frogs.
My Croatian is nonexistent. Her English is only slightly better than my Croatian. We settled on German. Her workshop museum is lovely. She was very kind. Possibly the nerdiest souvenir I have ever purchased.
Yes I did learn about the Croatian patent for the mechanical pencil in 1906 at the Zagreb History Museum and then find a craftswoman in her 80s in central Zagreb that specializes in fountain pen repair but also makes replicas of the 1906 Penkala pencil & has a little museum of sorts in her workshop.
