Day 7 France — La fin ! A day of wine tasing in Pomerol, then a simple Tartare de boeuf haché au couteau, jaune d'oeuf confit, frites, & salade at Amelia Canta, St Émilion And a glass of Château Le Châtelet 2020 (well, it is the last day 😁)
Day 6 France, Saint Émilion — Wine tasting at Château de Pressac then dinner at l’Atelier de Candale (i strongly recommend for its location, food, wine and service) Médaillon de foie gras, chutney abricot & noisette Demi magret de canard et son beurre d’herbes Glasses of Château de Candale 2019
Lunch on Cap Ferret at Roc Seven Oysters (naturally, with alps zero food miles) Tartare de saumon, agrumes, fruits de la passion et herbes fraîches Glass of La Chablisienne And more oysters 😁🇫🇷
WAs awakened last night by what I thought were 14 juillet fireworks, but instead I was treated to an hour of impressive lightening ⚡️ Clearly the supreme being (if She exists) was unhappy with the football result 😏🇫🇷

Day 3 France, Bordeaux After a morning tasting (and shipping back home) dessert wines from Chateau Doisy-Daëne, had lunch in Bordeaux: charcuterie and a glass of La Demoiselle de Sigalas.
Day 2 France, Saint-Émilion: Aperitif at ‘Vignobles et Châteaux’ Wine Bar (excellent wines & very good service) Dinner at L'Envers du Décor • Huîtres de l’île de Bréhat n°2 + a glass of Chablis • Foie de veau à la myrtille + a glass of St Émilion Grand Cru (well, obvs!) 😁🇫🇷
Day 1 France, Bergerac: Lunch at L’Imparfait* La mosaïque de tomates et poires Coeur de faux filet charolais, purée de pommes de terre, girolles A glass of Margaux *Bar next door called ‘Au Plus que Parfait’ (honestly) 🇫🇷😆
