Pride Month isn’t just a celebration, it’s a reminder of the fight, the progress and the work still to be done. From Stonewall to today, the LGBTQ+ community continues to stand strong in the face of challenges. Pride honours the past whilst moving toward a more inclusive future.
With Pride month approaching, events across the UK and Ireland are under way. Pride offers life-saving visibility, builds community, and fuels activism for LGBTQ+ rights. Celebrating diversity challenges prejudice, boosts mental health, and highlights the need to protect rights.
Durham Pride refused to be stopped after the County Council cut all funding for the event. The local community and Trade unions across the county stepped in, raising even more than the funding that was cut. Durham Pride returns 30 May - louder, prouder and bigger than ever!
