According to the FIFA Professional Football Report, there are 128,694 male professional soccer players world-wide. Fewer than 5 are out gay men playing currently. This is one of the reasons this group exists. Visibility and representation in our sport are solely lacking. We want to change that.

Today is Juneteenth, recognizing the end of slavery in America and the advances made by the Black community over historical injustices. But we never forget the work yet to be done for equality and justice. And we particularly recognize the continued struggle of the Black queer community.

Ten years ago today, we lost members of our LGBTQ+ community who were simply looking for fellowship and fun. Today is Pulse Remembrance Day, where we remember the 49 lost to tragedy. May we always remember them and support those affected by their loss.

This is what makes lower level soccer great. This is 10 minutes after the whistle, after the guys did a high five and autograph line around the pitch, and waited a couple minutes for the last guy to finish signing for kids. Then they do this with the supporters. You don't get this at MLS.

We are grateful that @unionomaha.bsky.social has separated now from @omahastormchasers.bsky.social. This event is hosted by a "church" that is nothing more than a spokesperson for the farthest right and MAGA. Google the "church." OSC aligning itself with it is further reason to boycott OSC.

Today, on this Memorial Day, we recognize all those who have given their lives for the ideals of freedom and equality. This specifically includes legions of LGBTQ+ veterans, many of whom had to hide their authentic selves to preserve freedom and democracy. We thank them and honor their sacrifice.
