You see, the thing about the Canadian boycott of US goods & services is that it's being driven by regular, every day Canadians. We go to the grocery store & leave US produce to rot. Our stores bring in produce from elsewhere. I had oranges from Egypt in my fridge. WE have chosen. FDJT!!

They keep framing the boycott as a temporary measure, as something Canadians are doing until the trade war ends, after which everything snaps back to normal. That is just not going to happen. Canadians have long memories. Canadian consumer behavior wasn’t structural; it was habitual. And when you give 40 million people a compelling moral and economic reason to break a habit, they form new ones.

Every single time a Canadian consumer makes a substitution at the grocery store, books a flight to Europe instead of Miami, or buys a non-American vehicle, the original American product loses its reason to exist in that household.

Trump gave Canadians 50 reasons to change their habits. And 40 million people responded, not with a march or a petition, but with their wallets, which is the only language an economic bully actually understands.

All it took was millions of ordinary Canadians quietly deciding that this particular relationship was no longer worth the price being charged. When you stack millions of individual household decisions together, you get a $4.5 billion collapse in American tourism, a $5.6 billion hit to Detroit auto exports, an 81 percent crash in American spirits, and a White House fact sheet that accidentally acts as a Canadian victory lap.

I had a lovely vacation in my home province of Ontario with my partner! We went to Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Blue Mountain, and Niagara-on-the-Lake! It was easy, relaxing, hot, humid, fun, and awesome! Travel is great. Being w/my partner is better. But I am glad to be home w/my kitties.

Yesterday my partner and I fixed part of my barn floor because it was pretty rotted. He did 90% of the work, maybe 95%! The barn is going to take a while to repair enough for future use and this is a patch job but I think @andycashmore.bsky.social did a fantastic job!!

For Fathers Day, I mowed my lawn. Typical Sunday. But today, while I mowed, I thought of all of the times I saw my Dad mowing our grass. And I remembered the times when he would let me drive the lawn tractor. Here I am, 7 yrs after he passed, cutting my grass. He would be proud, I think! <3 my Dad

Went to Stratford Ontario this weekend past with the partner. It was so nice to walk around outside in the sun without the fear of life altering insects like mosquitos, black flies, and ticks! We walked around and looked at stuff!
