PitTheSwordmaster (Comms Open 7/8)
@pswordmaster
Just an artist that draws and talks a lot about Death Battle, Fire Emblem, Persona, Danganronpa and possibly a lot of other stuff I’m obsessed with : )
222. Balls of Fury This shit is so boring that all the racism didn't even get a reaction out of me, I just gave up halfway through and started reading Bionicle while I waited for it to end.
221. Mega Man Zero Not X6 tier but hoo boy, did this game get under my skin. There’s a decent foundation for a platformer here that’s buried beneath uncomfortable screen crunch, a dogshit retry system and the game just not informing you on things well that quadrupled my playtime and my irritation.
220. Scooby-Doo! Wrestlemania Mystery I'm surprised how much fun this actually was. It plays sincerely into the absurdity and charm of professional wrestling and it works really well with Scooby-Doo humour, and it makes for a pretty entertaining little movie. Besides the McMahon glaze, fuck him.
219. Aang vs Traveller See how far a little optimism can go? The fight does feel disjointed at points and Traveller's analysis has its hiccups but I really liked Aang's analysis and the fight was otherwise very clean and creative with their use of elements. Glad Avatar finally got a solid episode.
218. Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender All in favour of blowing up Paramount, say I. It's an incredibly worthy follow-up to the original cartoon and the themes of Aang's journey, and it's accompanied by the prettiest fucking animation I have ever seen holy shit it's like goddamn cocaine for my eyes.
217. Santa Jaws It's like shockingly competent with cinematography and acting, which I wasn't expecting from a film like this. The rest of it is about as average as it gets, but it has the odd highlight that makes it still decently fun to watch. Clark's the best character, he's funny as fuck.
216. Avatar: The Last Airbender I firmly believe that this is one of the most important series you can show someone. It teaches genuinely meaningful lessons to kids with a story mature and nuanced enough for anyone of any age to appreciate, and a world full of characters that are truly timeless.
215. Kaiju Glam Metal Shark Attack If you don't want to check this out after reading all five words in that title in order then you have lived the absolute dullest life.
214. Pokémon Heartgold Few things in this world feel as cozy as picking one of your childhood games off the shelf, popping it into the original hardware, playing it start to end again and exploring each and every nook and cranny as that warm sense of nostalgia embraces you once more.
213. The Last Airbender As a movie, it's a painfully generic and badly acted fantasy film packed to the breaking point with long-winded exposition. As an adaptation, it's a jumbled mess of rearranged episodes from the show with all personality and nuance sapped completely dry. It's fucking awful.
212. Sausage Party It does everything it sets out to accomplish. Problem is, I don't like what it's trying to accomplish. Some jokes did land but the rest is like a Vivziepop meme in movie form to the point of being overwhelming, with so many sex jokes and racist stereotypes my head was spinning.
211. Everything Everywhere All At Once I love a story that can weave so much meaning out of the unexplainable. The ever expanding possibilities of the universe are explored so imaginatively and it comes so cleanly together for a simple, but powerful message about finding worth in a senseless world.
QTP with a gif of an under-appreciated video game
210. Spy x Family Some annoying jokes and characters do really stick out, but whenever they're not in the way, this show is just so damn comforting to watch. It's a phenomenal balance of fun goofy antics and genuinely heartfelt moments that made the main cast so endearing to follow throughout.
209. Mutant Action The utter absurdity of the premise is put on full display by the first act and it's pretty entertaining to witness... and then the movie loses any sense of direction and doesn't take long after that to seriously drag its heels with only glimpses of the absurdity peaking back out.
208. Speedrunners Yeah I'm absolutely coming back to this in future, this is hella addicting. I like a fast paced 2D platformer as much as the next guy, but a competitive multiplayer platformer with tight controls and movement options and frantic stage design and crazy items? Hell fucking yes dude.
207. I Know What You Did In English Class What the fuck
206. Plague Inc: Evolved Can feel very samey once you have the right strategies locked down but otherwise, I had a surprising amount of fun messing around with the different plagues and pinning down the ideal way to eradicate the human race... I had a pretty good time playing Plague Inc as well.
205. Pico Park 2 @lokabird.bsky.social is Hitler @officialcryomusic.bsky.social is Mussolini @hyperstarman.bsky.social is Stalin @w-lm27.bsky.social is Osama @mrspacepants.bsky.social is Tojo and PasBros, who I can’t ping so double kys, is Saddam
#DeathBattle Aang vs Traveller (Avatar vs Genshin Impact) I’ve no beef with Genshin but if I’m forced to draw one of these overly elaborate character designs one more fucking time, you’ll be seeing me on the news
Hi guys My friends and I plan to livestream on YouTube tomorrow to play some of our go-to multiplayer titles and possibly try not to kill each other if we can help it All goes well, we should be starting 1pm Irish Standard Time. Hope to see you all there!
204. Cuphead I did get really frustrated at several points but besides a few stinkers, the game's difficulty was entirely fair and surmountable with enough practice, and the reward of the game's endless imagination with its aesthetic and callbacks was well worth powering through its challenges.
203. The Nice Guys I was not expecting to like this one as much as I did. The comedy was a great blend of dry humour and slapstick, with Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe’s characters bouncing off of each other perfectly, and even the serious parts of the story had me genuinely invested. Great shit.
202. Jurassic Shark Idk man, I just needed some background noise
201. The Kid and the Camera A cute little short film with a really nifty stop motion style. It's a little too short and goofy for the horror to really land for me and I wish they did more with using the camera shots to build suspense, I liked that idea but I'd still suggest giving it a look.
200. I Found A Digital Camera In The Woods I was gonna do a shitty Creepypasta for each 100 milestone but this was way too interesting an idea for me to resist. Really simple but equally effective use of purely visual storytelling through the featured photos that allow for some good subtle spooks.
199. Wolf Children If I may be so pretentious for a moment... Art isn't just making pretty pictures or sounds. Art is expression the themes you want to explore the feelings you want to evoke the thing you truly want to say to those willing to hear you. This movie is art in its purest form.
198. Shantae and the Seven Sirens There were a lot of little annoyances that did add up but I'd still say that this the second best of the series. The animal transformations were easily at their most seamless here, dungeons were pretty fun for the most part and the game looks and sounds phenomenal.
