Our native-plant expert landscaper advised us to eliminate the invasive buckthorn stump by injecting it with turkey tail mushroom plugs. A year and a half later, this is the result. It's like a mushroom cake. Huzzah!
If you're visiting Prince Edward County this summer, do yourself a favour and check out Smoking J's Barbecue truck, located on the grounds of the Cressy Mustard Co. The food is sublime. My only regret is that I didn't pick up jars of mustard while there.
