Another typical Cofnas move when commenting on his blog/his views is saying: "I didn't say this, these are Harvard's numbers". When reading the original however, it is immediately clear that the "outside sports and entertainment"-statement is Cofnas's inference, not Harvard's. /49
Cofnas himself plays this trick too, which is called the "motte-and-bailey fallacy". In his two academic articles on the topic, he "just" calls for free inquiry on the topic and makes moderate statements. His race realist position is presented as a "possibility" with a lot of ifs and buts /47
Funny to see how Cofnas is sharing posts that misconstrue his own position to counter the racism-criticism. The author of this post claims that Cofnas is being called a racist because he just points out the difference between average IQ of white and black people. /46

This reminds me of this Bosch' image. I once had a long discussion with colleagues about its meaning. Do you perhaps know the meaning of the book on the women's head? Was it a common symbol/theme? I have never encountered it in other early modern works/images.

In 2006, two Flemish newspapers (@demorgen.be and @standaard.be) each published an article about Richard Lynn's "national IQ" dataset. This dataset is well-known for being based on (to put it euphemistically) "creative work with the data". Lynn is regarded as a pseudoscientist (and racist) /1

What a strange document. What's the idea here, mathematics and eugenics cannot possibly mingle? As in: mathematics stopped Galton from collecting heaps of quantitative data on humans with the hopes of breeding better individuals?
I always have the same vibe with this Rembrandt painting, especially with these two characters. It is as if they smoked a huge spliff together before class, forgot that it was painting day, the paranoia kicks in, and they're trying their utmost best to "just act normally"
Ok, perhaps it was too niche. So here it is: Heiner Rindermann using travel anecdotes to prove that "locals" in the Global South are indeed as stupid as the race pseudoscientists claim. (No worries, the paper got retracted)
Only connaisseurs of the race (pseudo)science literature will be able to appreciate why this is funny: when I went to buy a sandwich in the uni cafeteria I saw this sign which said "Back in 5 minutes"

Om het "guilt-by-association"-verwijt te anticiperen: Dutton is de meest geciteerde auteurs in De Vries' "dysgenics" artikel. Ook het boek waarin de "leftist mutant"-theorie wordt verdedigd, wordt geciteerd (trouwens uitgegeven bij extreemrechtse uitgeverij Imperium Press). /17

Dit (uit artikel Elbers) is een vreemd argument. Ofwel had Boudry relevante expertise voor het project, maar dan vervalt het argument. Ofwel had hij die expertise niet, maar dan is het alsof De Vries zegt: "Ik ben eerder door het rood gereden, maar toen kreeg ik geen boete, waarom nu wel?" /12
Wat Elbers ook compleet negeert zijn onze argumenten pro de schijn van partijdigheid. /11
