you're correct but i'd argue there's a bit of a different nuance in that usage, because yeah, it is a common phrase but it doesn't have quite the same meaning in the contexts we use it in the queer community

you can visibly read as intersex to someone but this by definition means you do not pass, not that you "pass as intersex"

Historically, this was common among women who served in occupations where they were prohibited, such as in combat roles in the military.
