I like all the saw movies for one reason or another warts and all, but 7 is easily the weakest. idec about the goofy 3d that much, it just suffers from a wildly massive misogyny problem from beginning to end. notice how the men in all the traps in this one are the only ones with any actual agency over decision making, or even just Movement in general. I'm glad they revived the series just so it didn't end on such a low note (also it think the 8th movie is one of the best idc what the haters say)

I don't know, I just keep thinking it'd make more sense if Gerudos just had a healthy amount of sexual diversity so there's a mix of what we would call cis trans and intersex women but they all just call themselves Female because they view gender way differently to other races.
The "One Male Gerudo" born every 100 years is actually determined by some other factor unrelated to biology, no-one knows what it is except the king and his immediate family and the chiefs whenever they take over between kings. It's A Secret To Everybody else.
They didn't even use any sort of words like "male" or "female" back in ancient history, those were loan words that came later. It was purely about the Gerudos' destined Royal Ruler being born and reborn every 100 years, nothing gendered about it.
All the weird bioessentialism came from hylians and other weirdly strictly cis-het races injecting their biases into their interpretations of neighbouring nations' cultures and their histories.
Scholars took one look at the dress code and went "Of Course The One Male Is Their King"

page 2 of the manga. the girls run away, screaming "we're sorry." the protagonist laments, "I guess it really doesn't work for someone like me." she looks at the beautiful cis female character on her phone, who is saying what she just quoted. the protagonist narrates the last panel: "My name is Sawatari Hikaru, 16, high school second year. Because of my appearance, I'm feared as the legendary delinquent Oniwatari, the kind that makes even crying children fall silent. However, those rumours are exaggerated."
