More passion. Less shouting. A Cooler Heads podcast by Naomi Smith @pimlicat.bsky.social, Alex Andreou @sturdyalex.bsky.social, and Kenny Campbell @mrkennycampbell.bsky.social. Support us on
I'm not sure the position is as overwhelming as you describe among the general public and, certainly, when it comes to Labour supporters, she was the most disliked cabinet member, at the last count. A
The only brief mention of this was on Thursday's main show and I struggle to glean where exactly we showed any negativity. I assure you it was unintended - not to mention undetectable, at least by me. A x
Outside a tea-shop in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, I am reliably informed. A x
And, of course, after the BBC spends a week obsessively promoting their disgraceful dog-whistle "sting", Reform promises to review and revoke the asylum decisions of thousands of people already granted it. With zero mentions of the BBC's "undercover investigation" anywhere in the piece. A
You called it, @pimlicat.bsky.social. Thanks to listener Doug for taking on the Wokey Dokey challenge and making it real. A x
And yet, he is still ahead in most head-to-head polls. Which could mean a number of things. A x
This was a different poll. You have the wrong end of the stick. From the transcript. 👇🏽
There is no reason why I should be quite THIS excited about our Christmassified Jingle. And yet I am. (Sound on, obviously.) A x
EXACTLY as predicted by @pimlicat.bsky.social and @samfr.bsky.social yesterday. ARE WE GOOD OR ARE WE GOOD? A x
I accept we have a blind spot as non-religious people, but your critique is not fair. Here's the transcript. The singing is about watching football. Church is not "reduced" to gossip. All N is saying is that "often" people revelled in "a moment of congregation" and *maybe* a gossip and a cuppa. 1/2
Putting this together was actually a HUGE amount of fun. Feel free to share it - here or on whatever platform and with whichever friend or family member you think would enjoy our vibe and the gorgeous community we have become.
This seems such a weird criticism. It feels bad faith. But I would be grateful for listeners' views - especially women's sense of our tone. A
OMG we did this on Wokey Dokey three weeks ago. He has quite literallt lifted his argument from that George Weigel guy! @pimlicat.bsky.social @dhnnjyn.bsky.social
👊🏽 Sunday School: You wouldn't like us when we're angry 👊🏽 @pimlicat.bsky.social and @sturdyalex.bsky.social talk about Labour's cruel proposed welfare reforms, Musk's destruction of Tesla, and Germany's big spending spree. 🎧 open.spotify.com/episode/6kFQ... 🍏 podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/q...
Apologies, Pete. It was some stupid mock up that got through because I took my eye off the ball yesterday, instead of this, which should have been the visual. I have corrected it now, although it will take an hour to propagate across all services. A x
This is the shallow sensationalising I was talking about in the podcast. Zero context, just tabloid OMG OMG OMG framing. From The Times ffs GBP was worth 1.2269 USD at the open and 1.2208 at the close. UK 30yr bond rate was 5.412% first thing and is 5.410% now. 10-yr gilts tiny movement other way.
I'm not gonna lie, this is quite a bit ahead of where we thought we would be six months in...
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to our beautiful, unique, and irreplaceable podcasting family. Alex, Naomi, & Kenny.
