I’m an avid quilter and reader, amateur genealogist, lousy but enthusiastic gardener, and am a retired military wife. I love my backyard birds that visit my feeders every day. I’ve been married since dirt so …obviously not interested. I block if you DM.
My quilt group has been playing with variations of the Log Cabin pattern. Here is my interpretation- I just love how it turned out! #Quiltsky
I was given a smart feeder for Christmas and finally got it running a couple days ago. Here’s a cute little House Finch to make you smile on these terrible days.
Well he got what he wanted. Nobody is talking about the Epstein files. They’re talking about the people he’s killed by his actions in Minnesota. He is a piece of shit.
The top is finally complete! All that’s left is quilting and binding. She wasn’t a fast one to make (all templates) and it’s far from perfect, but I love how it turned out. #Quiltsky
Another row added to the Jen Kingwell Voca quilt. Still needs some blocks moved around and at least a couple more rows, I think.
Been working on this one for a couple weeks. It’s a templated quilt from Jen Kingwell’s new book, “Gathered”. She did hers in all low volume prints and I really needed to see it with more vibrancy. It needs some blocks moved around and more added but it’s a start. So far, I’m pretty happy with it.
Redlands showed up too! Our small town brought out 3000+ people!
It was easy to make. Here’s the template - if you look, you’ll see I wrote quickie directions. My ghost was six inches so the template I made was 18”. I used scraps and then trimmed it to fit my template, added fusible interface. The lining was exactly the same and I turned it inside out. No binding!
Just a quickie project. Appliqué - cutting the legs was a challenge but I enjoyed the project when completed. Perfect for Halloween!
I know, I know, it’s still August, but I got in the mood for a new window quilt for October. It was so stinking cute I had to share it while we’re all sweating through this god-awful August heatwave.
Finally got my groove back. This is paper pieced. I made a trivet out of an extra block for a fundraiser.
Another quilted project completed, this time a table runner. It’s paper pieced and I also did the final quilting. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out.
The local quilt store asked me to sew up a quilt for them and I foolishly said,”Yes” - without taking a look at the pattern. Almost every piece was either 1” or 1 1/2” cut to some length. Lots of flippy corners. It’s super cute but I have a vision of a beginner buying it and being frustrated. Sigh.
I took a Dresden class yesterday. It was lots of fun! I only got one Dresden completed but it is very cool. Looking forward to making more - they are really fun!
No Kings protest in Redlands, Ca! The town turned out and took over many blocks in our center of town.
