For fuck's sake He's gonna have moly grease on him now. Can't wait to clean that off the *everythings*
1500 hour maintenance complete! Actually took the back off this time to properly get in to access the rear Z-axis leadscrew - well worth the small effort
The ACCC called and said you were right and that I needed to correct the record
Sometimes you gotta trawl the back catalogue and post an old one <SOCKED BEANS ON DISPLAY>
Got a SAS HBA for the next drive array. These things reportedly run hot and really need forced air, so some quick printing and folding some polycarb sheet I had on hand.. All ready for a 40mm fan and should be g2g!
One of the cats living the dream in the Cone of Shame for a few days (nasty wound from a very likely cat bite)
Hoping there's a plane out there somewhere with a nose decal with a single outstretched finger, prepared to digit-fuck this hand-donut I don't mind if there are causalities, I just want it to happen
Just uploaded my 'Screenshots' folder from my existing Google Photos account to my now locally hosted photostore. Facial recognition did its thing and I hate the current list of unidentified faces
Here's the unacknowledged powerhouse: Unifi Flex 2.5G switch. 8 port, PoE, 10G uplink. And my RPi5 FlightAware box beside it, receiving ADS-B and reporting back to the wider internet.
Been sinking a lot of time and effort and money (oh god the money) into recent endeavour: home automation/self-hosting. Goal is full abscission from cloud services in everyday life. Some small exceptions (email, webhosting - security reasons). Love how it's come together, at least aesthetically.
Anyway! DIY sensors I've been working on. ESP32C6 (Seeed Xiao), BME280 sensor. Still prototype. BUT. Slim programming! 16uA sleep draw for 10 mins, then 885ms to connect (WiFi), send temperature/pressure/humidity/battery voltage JSON, back to sleep. 400mAh LiPo (rechargable!), >140day lifespan
Have never seen this sample rate in the wild before. Wasn't even sure that my DAC would accept it! Turns out yes, it does. Ok!
