Rest in Peace Bill Oddie. I remember your delight at my pirate gorilla costume for the Gorilla Run, as well as your concern that I looked like I might keel over. You did so much to encourage people to care about nature, thank you.
Things might be about to get weird. The question is will he still work once I've cleaned the battery acid from the contacts? 1999, here I come again (maybe)... #timetravel #90s #furby
Norman's got the right idea. Red weather warning for heat? Nap time. #guineapig #summer
Can we take a moment away from your scrolling to encourage appreciation of Norman's mid-chin-tickle-face? He's such a happy little sausage. #guineapigs #pets #relax
Happy Dorset Day. These two ladies read Thomas Hardy and William Barnes poetry in Dorchester yesterday as part of the Victorian Street Fair.
That's half a cat inside the hedgehog feeding station, having spent two nights trying to work out how to get around the bricks specifically put there to prevent said cat from getting in. And yes, that's also a hedgehog watching the cat eat the dinner I put out for him. Back to the drawing board.
Going through old notebooks and realising I have no way to organise scraps of unused writing. Do you type them up on the computer? Forever forget they exist? Cry disorganised tears into the void? Writers, send help! This might be a biscuit eating emergency. #writingcommunity #writing
Happy 100th birthday Sir David Attenborough. Here I am getting my book signed, having skived off lectures with full approval of our tutor. Travelled to Bristol and queued up behind a group of ladies dressed as insects to meet our hero. #memories #Davidattenborough
Just about recovered from the Bournemouth Writing Festival. What an inspiring weekend! @bmthwritingfest.bsky.social #writingcommunity
End of a fun day at @bmthwritingfest.bsky.social, helping at the kids' talks, an interesting talk in the afternoon about memoir writing, and lovely conversations with writers. More tomo, including my Creative Nonfiction breakfast meetup (9am, Cosy Club, Bournemouth). #writing #writingcommunity #📚💙
Stopped to appreciate the day's last wash of sunlight over spring-fresh leaves and spotted a squirrel tail swish up and around the trunk. Evening peace. #naturewriting #writing #notes
Bluebells on the Laurie Lee Wildlife Way. It was my first time exploring this area and I'll definitely come back again. #walking #poetry #wildflowers
Who's been eating the house while I'm out at work Caramel? "No idea. It wasn't me. Honest." Happy Easter all. #guineapigs #petsky
Norman and Trixie. This is the first pic I have of Trixie not hiding. She was terrified when we adopted her. She came from a household where they allowed the dog to terrorise her. Just over two months in and she's now feeling comfortable resting in the open. #guineapigs #pets #adoptdontshop
The face of a writer when they spot their words in a bookshop. I don't think it could ever get old? And yes, obviously I was looking for it. You have to enjoy every little boost in this game! #writingcommunity #📚💙 #💙📚 #travelwriting
Last night's moon was on its best behaviour. You can tell from it's halo. #moon #night #naturewriting #joke
These two unidentifiable blobs are white tailed sea eagles cruising over Wareham Forest this afternoon. Did their flypast then one doubled back the other way. Think he'd forgotten something. @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social @ian-vaughan.bsky.social #birds
Sadly, I have to let you know that Eliza Guinea Pig, featured in my cover photo on here, has passed away. We loved her so much. Adopted with her sister four years ago, she has brought so much joy and fun to our household. She leaves behind young Norman, doting GP husband. Goodnight my girl x
