My OH is obsessed with it to the point of getting this tattoo when he got his PhD from Leeds.
English flag shaggers have nothing on this place, the town is lit up like Christmas, fireworks going off for St George, the lot. They sure love their saints.
Need to get my hands on the rest of the photos in the hope there are some where I don't look like a turnip, but it's really important to share a) how handsome he is, b) that jacket and c) my late grandad's novelty braces
Right so I got married on Monday, it was pretty sick, almost twenty years together then twenty minutes at the civic hall and we were all good, couldn't stop grinning at @porcopalude.bsky.social all day and most importantly our insanely talented pal gave us this magnificent handmade gift
Bf spent the afternoon at a lefty talky event and brought me home the most My Shit zine imaginable.
They all wriggled their way out like a dream last week, the next week or so it'll be tough to catch a glimpse while mum & dad keep them warm but SO rewarding when you do. Wish they stayed at the fluffball stage for longer.
Inherited these 4 years ago when my great aunt died & they've sat forgotten in my mum's house til today. Taking them for resizing tomorrow, along with Tim's dad's old ring, ready for a Special Thing later in the year. Just realised it'll be Valentine's & feel like a corny old numpty.
Me and my best pal Kathy, aged 10, attempting an early proto-podcast we called 'Couples' in which we narrated the most malicious romantic pairings of our classmates we could dream up before collapsing into giggles, all recorded on one of these.
God bless our local microbakery and their decision to do Xmas eve croissants and mince pies. Look at these beauties.
Me during the jokes round of the work Xmas quiz: (nice work on it BTW, our team scored embarrassingly low but had great fun getting everything wrong)
Good fun night of dad rock at the Brude last night, enjoyed the main act backing up the support/support backing up the main act setup. I need better ear protection options, the earplugs I wore to Deerhoof last month were way too effective here & I spent most of the night fiddling with them :/
Arusuvai in Kirkstall currently kicking the shit out of the local competition for breakfast & brunch offering. All u can eat South Indian/Tamil buffet with tea/coffee & dosa made to order for a tenner + a lovely staff team ❤️
Six months off skates, bad back, made it to the roller disco to try & fix my fucked mental health, here goes
Really need this fella to have a go at the knots and pinched nerves in my shoulder rn
I won one of these at summer fair bingo one year in junior school. More notable for its form than its artwork. Age-wise I was right in the cusp of this going from cool to excruciatingly babyish, so it only got a little use.
This year's dinner was blessed by a handsome young blackbird who's been coming back to strut up and down our garden fence all afternoon. He still has some of his downy fluff & is extremely charming, my hope for 2025 is to befriend him
Knocked it into the stratosphere with lunch again this year, Tim is calling me the Christmas hero
Lucycat has been coming and going all morning, she's mad at hell that I'm cleaning the kitchen with the back door open so she can't settle down. Come and join me babygirl.
No gift swapping at home this year (reasons: money, disorganisation, we need maximum time for eating) but the neighbour's cat is getting a little fluffy catnip hedgehog for when she stops by to chill in the lean-to, and I couldn't be more excited for her
Colleague snapped the most horrific photo of me at the work Xmas social yesterday, so grabbing a lippy selfie to get my mojo back
