The San Diego Padres have hit the one-third mark of the 162-game season with three consecutive losses scarred by a lack of hitting teamwide. Their 31-23 record is a mirage. Their starting pitching is suspect. Tatis has no homers. Merrill, Machado, Laureano, Fermin, Castellanos are lost at the plate.
Padres 1-0 over the Evil Empire up North, take over first place in the NL West. Felt like a playoff game. Starting pitcher Michael King pitched a brilliant game, and stud reliever Jason Adam and All World closer Mason “The Reaper” Miller masterfully closed out the win. Bravo!
