This is ‘Gus’, the Great blue heron this morning on dad’s beach. Gus uses this rock and a couple others to patiently wait for a meal when the tide is coming or going out. Same behavior for many years! 🪶 #AlphabetChallenge #WeekBforBehind #PNW #PugetSound

How many mealworms can a female American Robin hold in her beak? Mrs. Robinson has been partially feeding her clutches for 3 years with dried mealworms that I hydrate with water and place inside this crate. We get along fabulously and have multiple feeding routines. 🪶 #PNW #Nature #BirdsofBlueSky

The colorful Western Tanagers arrived in our yard last week. They nest nearby and visit the yard multiple times a day. They love suet! This male Tanager waited until the female Hairy’s Woodpecker finished before doing his helicopter routine. Quickly iPhone filmed through a window. 🪶 #Birds

I ran outside this evening to take a few pictures of rhododendrons in the yard before the forecasted thundershowers arrive tonight and tomorrow. I don’t know the names as they were here when we moved in. We transplanted them to where they are now. #BloomScrolling #PNW #Rhodys #Spring

Preston Blair was also an illustrator for Walt Disney. Red is dancing and singing “Oh Wolfie” on stage before returning to her job at the wartime factory.
There was too much glare trying to show the entire gold colored wood frame.

Klondike azalea is a beautiful golden orange yellow with 3.5” blossoms that have a very strong spicy aroma that I love.

This ruffled edge red azalea beauty will fade after a few days in full sun. I don’t know the name of this plant.

#AlphabetChallenge #WeekOforOld #Art This oil on canvas with original frame is from Seattle artist Dorothy Dolph Jensen. Dorothy was a founding member of the Women Painters of Washington in 1930. This untitled piece has been in our family since 1934. There’s some window glare on the right side.

Ugh! Be safe and keep an eye on those skies. 😬 We had a Tornadic waterspout crossing Puget Sound on Wednesday. The tornado dissipated before it came ashore in Seattle. Extremely rare event for Puget Sound!
